  • Nice day here in conwy valley - managed to get my roses moved from their temporary summer home to their lovingly prepared new permanent bed! I know it isnt quite November, as was suggested would be the best time to move them when I asked for advice on another thread on the forum, but the weather's turning chilly & I get into a bit of bother with Arthur Itis when the temps drop!!

Retirement is great Dove ( been free now for 2 years) but I do feel guilty when OH has to leave for work at 7.30 in the cold & dark! Well, I do for a bit anyway!!! lol

Have a nice late afternoon/evening all xx

Hi Dolgarrog image  The closer it gets the stranger it feels - a week today will be my last day!  I'm alternately feeling that I should rush around and get things done, then realising that in a week's time I'll have all the time in the world and I can garden during the week instead of just at weekends!

My OH often leaves here on his bike at 6.30am, but he doesn't have far to go and on those days he's home around lunchtime to work in the studio, so I'll be trying hard not to feel too guilty.  image

Well, that's the fence panels replaced. Bought 4, thinking I would keep a spare in the shed, just in case. Turns out another was knackered so all four sorted image

All I need to do now is replace the rather wonky arch image

Well done Panda image  Wonky arch?  What's it got clambering up it/holding it up?

Dove, The arch only went in this summer, and so has very new little plants, a jasmine, two fuschias and a rose, Which is a blessing as I would have been more upset if the plants had been bigger. Here is a picture of the sorry article

The right hand side was hit by a flying fence panel and some what squashed! I am only glad I didn't spend loads on the thing image

Well done Panda. I've been sitting on my bottom, scoffing and chattering to my friend.

H been doing man stuff in the garage. Just before I went out I thought he's also planning on re-felting shed roof as the new felt appeared to be laying on the roof, flattening out ?? Strange weather to undertake this me thinks. Closure inspection showed that the old felt had come adrift and was flapping about.image Now repaired ( temporary basis ) until we get a good dry day.

Nice meal for the man I think. image

Dove I think the best thing about retirement is no alarm clock, after 13 months I still have an inbuilt one, but no shock awakening.

Maybe make a very small wonky polytunnel. Sorry not really a joking matter I'm glad as you say, that your plants weren't covering it.

Seriously any chance you can re-cycle it? cloches maybe.

Very cold in Sheffield today. Dug up some dahlia tubers and they are now drying off in the porch. Not sure the OH will like that. Surprised to find that there were quite a few tubers with rotten bits which I dont normally find. Hopefully I have removed all of these and all will be well.
