I think Verdun always has first Dibs on it image  I was talking to a chap from the West Country the other day who was complaining about what awful weather they have down there for gardening - makes me think that either Verdun has rose-tinted specs or has organised his own special micro-climate imageimage

Morning all. Expecting fairly grim weather today, so will try to get my Ricins planted out before it arrives.

    Have a good day everyone.

How can you lie there and think of England

Morning all. I think Dove and Verdun stole the sun! They often mention it. We are due storms tonight with hail. Hope it's not like the hail we had 3 years ago when all the tomatoes had hard brown patches on them from being bruised by hail when they were babies. And my big tough, slugproof hosta had holes ripped through its leaves.

Bad nights sleep here with an early start to try and make a dent in the ironing pile (where does it all come from??)

Left my phone at home (I hope!) And its amazing how naked you feel without it - to think I never felt this ten years ago when I'd cycle 30 - 50 miles miles through country back lanes and fields and parents were given a rough sketch of where I was going with the list of friendly houses to call in at along the route if I got into difficulty!Thought there'd be rain today KEF - I was hoping to paint the garden bench and there's not space in the shed to put it in there to dry.

Morning Clari - it was hot and sticky last night - I was tossing and turning and having a drink of water all night image

Yes, I used to cycle for miles and miles as a youngster - parents nowadays would have kittens!!!

Hope you have recovered a bit from your aches and pains punkdoc.

Good luck with your day OL.  Don't think Verdun has rose-tinted specs, they look like sunglasses to meimage

I didn't sleep well either, too hot 26° in the bedroom. Window was open and a hornet got in at dawn and had to be helped to find it's way out, got stuck behind the inside wooden shutter.

Dove I drank two pints of water throughout the night and was still thirsty when I got out of bed. Partner somehow managed to sleep like a snoring log and he's normally the one who suffers the most! (Although his hayfever started announcing itself long before he woke up).

Odd how the world has changed - all our gadgets you'd think we'd have much more freedom yet you can never really escape a beady eye watching you!

    Sorry for the swearing Lesley!
