We also had some water down chimneys, not to extent you had Nut. Had to put a bowl under chimney breast in unused one in bedroom. The roofer said chimneys were fine.
It's not too serious really, barely shows now. We've just put in a new chimney liner and there's no soot to absorb any water. The colour and pattern of the carpet is perfect for disguising marks
Can I just ask please can anybody see my posts or has the ignore button been pressed?I don,t seem to be getting any responses to postings.it may be something I have done.
Have carried on with winter project. Srabbed myself so lost heart then, but so minor I am sure I will live.
We had to have a cowl (horrible plastic thing) on our chimney to stop rain and birds. The original was an upturned curved roofing edge that looked lovely. Didn't comply with various regulations though

Oh kef that is a shame I found a dead wren last week.. I suppose it is after breeding season so older birds do die.....
I lost 3 fence panels
One of which took out my metal arch which I have attempted to bend back into shape - it looks rather sad now

Tomorrow I'll be off to buy new panels, and maybe a new arch.
Not too bad really. Off to a friends for tea, see you all later
enjoy the tea and forget about everything else 4thP
