I've a CK mug when it was in the sale, the OH vehemently hates her stuff. 'how much for a pen/bag/purse/dress/shoes/phone case/bowl yada yada'

Woke up to find a terrifying bill had to be paid by tomorrow. I hate universities, they've messed the OH about so much regarding his PhD fees, I really feel for him, but there's not a lot I can do... Sigh!

I thought GW was fab last night. Rather fancied the raised beds the 'inexperienced' gardeners had for the allotment!

Oh punkdoc you have been doing exactly the same as me.  Started digging dandelions up and got too hot and bothered, moved to a bit of pruning, then hoeing. Everything is out where I left it and the patio is a mess so can't enjoy sitting out until it's tidy. Just in again to cool off (not that I'm complaining) the weather is glorious.

Started long job of potting on, then moved on to some planting out, distracted by a tiny moth/butterfly, rushed in for camera (OH doing some mending of laptop so can't put on here yet for id), then back to potting, a bit over there to prune and chop, will never manage all these jobs! Not even considering those hosts sized dandilions yet! expecting feather bed to look great next year, just need to see how things grow for this year.

Thanks for nice wishes and virtual wine last nightimage

OH family party tonight so had a nice dress up girly practice session last night, finally found a dress that still fits and looks nice, did hair differently so should scrub up ok, fingers crossed. Oh yes, must scrub nails.

    Enjoy the weekend everyone.

I've filled one brown wheely bin, just started on the second (next doors).

I'm throwing the big slugs in with the weeds.

A squirrel has taken a fancy to my tall yellow scabious, biting off branches to bring the flowers down, and then running off with the flowers. image

I need something to eat then back to the jungle.

We've had a few quizzes here the last few days, mine is:

Where do you look for a missing undergardener with a dodgy knee and sore shoulder, who has spent 3 hrs grass cutting this morning? image I have found him but can you guess where ?

Kev, on the sofa with a drinkie poo? Mrs g have a lovely time at your party, oh how I would love to dress up,paint my nails and go out, even just for an early evening meal with hubby...I'm just too knackered at the moment, and can't stay outt beyond 9 pm as I'd just fall asleep in a corner

KEF, asleep on the sofa?  Or sitting in the sun with a beer?

I've got loads done today, veg patch all sorted and planted up so that's that job done.....all I have to do now is watch it grow and eat image Providing of course insects/birds/mice/squirrels don't get it first image

Oh and I have my first Hollyhock flower and my first Papaver, a bit deeper red than I though it would be, almost plum, but absolutely beautiful image Lillies might be open tomorrow.

I didn't think slugs ate flowers, just leaves?  Something has eaten half of my 'prized' clematis flower, little b****r!!

I've taken some pics so will try and post later if I can upload them to the laptop.

Forgot to say, have a fab time MrsGarden, I'm looking fonward to getting dressed up in 3 weeks time.....I will probably be rather merry on bubbly this time in 3 weeks.

Rosemummy, believe me the time will go so quick that before you know it you'll be wishing you had littlies and could go to bed at 9pm again.....we are getting to the stage where our big boy sometimes goes to bed after us, or at the same time as us image
