DD arrived - at last. She got very lost and her phone had broken, no Sat Nav. We had a good chat and she brought rock cakes because we'd talked about them, lovely, better than at school! Think she was here for about 3 hours and we haven't finished saying all we wanted to say yet! Sorry, forgot to ask OH to take a photo, but it's not as though we were visiting a garden.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Long day outdoors shifting timber, putting more fence posts in and sorting other things that needed doing. I've resorted to the postcrete type stuff for these posts. Mixed more than enough concrete here over the last year and I'm Kerry Packered with the amount I've done overall, so it's saving a lot of work even if it's dearer.
Putting my feet up now that I've had my dinner, so I'll have a look round and see what you've all been doing.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
What a great spot Dove. Loved the swallows and amazons books (although I could never work out why the Susan's in books were always the bossy ones ).
so glad Lizzie and DD had a lovely catch up - hope DD makes it back with less events. Woody is the other Forumer I have met - no photos then either - these days we could have done a selfie. And i must have walked past Ggirl in the street - but think that is pushing the definition of "met" a bit far
Pin Mill is a lovely place Dove. We used to go there a lot when we were sailing - might have to go again soon. Glad you had a nice day. Did your friend with the poorly car get home ok?
Pleased to hear DD made it to BL's eventually - I'd be (literally) lost without my sat nav now!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Beaus Mum, history of 'the arch' follows: bought one of those metal ones from Wilco, put it up. In storms in Nov a fence panel came out and rather wiped out the arch. I pulled it back together, put some wooden posts in to strengthen it and all was well until next doors gazebo took flight one evening and landed on it!
There in is the tale of my poorly arch and why Pa Panda and my brother have made me a new one for my birthday
Topbird, I agree!
BLizzie, glad you had a lovely time It's great meeting Forkers
Had a super (late) afternoon at BL's - with no sat nav, no phone and no navigator did manage to get rather lost, however, after eventually finding a person, who found another person (heavily pregnant lady) and asking in my bestest French " do you know an English lady called Bizzee Lizzee? the charming heavily pregnant lady jumped (well waddled) into her car and escorted me to the door! How very kind, and can you imagine asking that in England and them knowing exactly who you mean. Think Bizzie Lizzie might have a bit of a reputation up there!
Garden and BL were absolutely delightful and enormous - garden not BL. Very impressed with all the flowers and the fact that BL knows what they are all called. Fantastic afternoon - BL worried about weeds - she ain't seen nothing yet, hopefully a visit to my wilderness will make her realise she has nothing to worry about.
OH telephoned and reassured not been kidnapped by white slavers - sounded rather disappointed!
Last of leftover suppers eaten , have to cook for real tomorrow, wine bottle empty (wasn't a full one - honest) better not open another , OH 'll be checking his cellar 2moro. Off to bed now, early start to pick the 'boyz' up from airport.
PS - re: dump comment earlier was so on the your wavelength Mrs G!
Goodnight all, and you are welcome anytime, free B&B to anyone who can do a days work in the jungle - and make a difference.

That's ok then, as long as DD and BL found each other eventually
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Looks lovely Dove - that wasn't there when I posted.
Panda - I think someone's trying to tell you something with that arch...make sure that new one's well secured....
Wrists are very sore but I'm managing to have a cuppa and one of daughter's flapjacks that she made today so I think i can soldier on bravely...
Have a lovely day tomorrow Panda, if I doze off and don't 'see' you before then. I'll have a small slice of birthday cake when you're ready
