    Me again...

For the first time ever I have removed the petals from my rhodo. Previously always understood not to risk it for fear of loosing next years flower buds. well, it hadn't lasted long before the rain turned the flowers brown.

The left side is 'before' and the right is 'after'. Just love the spidery look! It's all done now and the border looks so much nicer, nothing damaged either.

I break the dead heads off MrsG - they snap off very neatly  image

I like neat but don't always manage it. Will go and see what you've written!

Quick lunch for me and back to work. Still dry but will no doubt rain when I get home.

Hi all. Have been shopping for camping stuff ready for Glastonbury. I wanted to just do bivvy bags, like I used to use in mountains, but sensibly OH insisted I bought something more comfortable.

Managed to avoid going near a GC., even though I have birthday vouchers.

Enjoy the rest of your day, everyone.

punkdoc, my sister always goes to Glastonbury. She met the owner years and years ago when she was a militant flower powery sort of person on a march for rights for women or ban the bomb or something. Now she's the social worker who looks after lost children at the festival.

Was just going out to garden and the heavens opened.

I've just popped on to polish my halo.......had a wander round the GC and didn't buy anything!!  The temptation was immense but didn't know what to get and with wedding costs mounting up I thought I'd be good......it was nice looking though image

I've got several seedlings not getting any bigger, just wondering whether to pot on into larger pot or just throw em in the ground? There's my hordeum grass, cornflowers, nigella and dianthus (that I can remember). Fed up of them being 2-3cm tall for weeks on end, need a plan of action.

    Afternoon image

Miserable day here today. Woke up at 6.30, must have been anticipating my wake up call. When that didn't come (thanks KEF) I went back to sleep image I have spent most of the day mooching about.

Doc, I hope you weren't thinking plastic bivvy. Have slept in these and they get very wet inside image Rather you than me!

What conditions are they growing in - individual pots or seed trays? I'd stick the Hordeum and Dianthus  in bigger pots. I'd want a decent root ball on them first before putting in the ground unless you're just putting several into a big pot for a display. Cornflowers and Nigella should start romping away soon so if they're very spindly and sad looking in a tray I'd hang fire - pot them on separately or thin out anyway to give them a chance to grow on. Are they going into a border/bed eventually?
