Morning all. Only 37 years til retirement for me so I guess I ought think about getting up! Enjoy retirement Dove, but don't be like my future mother in law who upon retiring has volunteered for so much you wonder whether she ever sits down!

  • Mornin all... Chicky as usual an early bird..enjoy the train ...clarington 23 years for me to retire and oh I can't wait!!!! My mum sounds like yours she is always on the go. My dad is a little lazier so my mum decided to become a ski,er..... Spending kids inheritance and as of last week they have been round the world x3 times now. Not bad considering they are in their 80's!!!! My dad complains but he does love it on the previso he goes to Vegas he's fine! Well lots of wet stuff falling here. I have another iris question .... The Iris's I bought  ( done when monty told me to and from a specific iris grower can't remember which one now) the trimmed leaves on them  are all going brown and dying back, I do notice that on each one at the bottom of the bulb rhimazone there is a new leaf spike starting is this ok? They are firm not squishy and I'm assuming it's just this years leaves dying back to allow the new ones to grow???? Am I incorrect in my assumptions?

Think you are right about your irises Stacey - mine always look like that at this time of yearimage

  • Good morning all image Thank you everyone for all the lovely pics/cards/messages ((hugs)).

Well, old habits die hard and I woke up at 5.20am - however I didn't get out of bed and OH got me a mug of coffee before he set off to work at 6.30 image  Now I've checked emails, done a bit of inbox tidying and can noodle on here with you lot for a while before showering and getting started for the day.

Am going to sit on my hands when it comes to volunteering - I did a lot of that stuff earlier on all through my 20s and 30s and 40s, so think I can do my own stuff with a clear conscience now image  I've managed to convince myself that I don't have to start springcleaning the house today - but a bit of clothes shopping might be in order later image

    Morning early birds and everyone.

Damp here and 7C, off to B&Q this morning more compost & vermic' needed. Hoping no plants need rescuing as I don't know where I'll put them.

Stacey my parents travelled a lot when they first retired, they loved it.

Chicky enjoy looking out of the train window.

Clarington just think how many new plants you'll acquire in 37yrs.image

    Enjoy your day.
