I've been (working very hard all morning) having a big think (about how to improve the current working systems of a floating end heat exchanger) and realised (you can't, they're awesome) that the chicken hutch proposed area currently has 120 plus snow drop bulbs all sat in a position known as "not optimal with sustaining their lives".
Oh poot!!
I think trying to dig them out now would be near impossible (I went for the natural look obtained by throwing the bulbs up in the air and planting them where they landed) so do I try and create a fence within the run of where I know they are roughly come December to save them from little curious beaks as they start to come up and transplant them as soon as I can or do I give them up as a lost cause and start again next year
MrsG - I had another thought about your rhodie on the thread you started
I'd get them up now Clari - they won't too deep down. Do a clump or two each day and bung them in pots or a few black buckets with holes in. They'll be fine in a quiet corner till later in the year.
Quite cold here after being warm yesterday. My plants arrived from Jackson's (2 Carex e.aureas and 2 geranium renardiis) and are unpacked and in a little corner all safe and sound
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hi all, clouded over here mid morning and about six blobs of rain. Had hoed and loosened soil in dry areas ready for a soaking
Runners, and other climbing beans, French & barlotti whose names elude me now planted. Courgette area now ready. Cumbers having their first night in GH still in smallish pots, need to slow them down a bit, too cosy in conservatory. Some for friends delivering on Sat'.
Some kale planted and covered with netting, taken great delight in watching cabbage whites attempt to get at them rest of them & rocket will get done another day. Need to sow direct stuff but not happening today.
Few Summer bulbs planted to fill gaps, need to plant out white cornflowers and more cosmos, but had enough time on my knees.
Still waiting for poppy to burst open. They do say a watched pot doesn't boil
Do you think they'll let Panda on the train with a barrow full of plants LIke Verdun says, hope they are having good weather & fun. We might see Chicky on tele', but we don't know what she looks like
Busy doing nothing today! Feels like it anyway. School appointment in the morning. Car 'health check' in the afternoon. Idled around shops while I waited. Car place phoned to say oil & antifreeze top up needed, £15, feel like I've been had, but checked prices at Halford's and it now seems reasonable Who knows?
Not even seen any of chelsea today.
Will be taking compost back to costco tomorrow, customer service I expect to be good, just rubbish compost.

Verd - very impressed with Jackson's and their handling of my order. Will add them to the thread again. Don't know who started it ....

I know what chick looks like KEF. She's ever so glamorous...she told me so herself...
Glad to see who won Best in Show. That would have been my choice. Do I get a special prize?
