Very busy day ahead. Starts with banking the money for the hortsoc annual outing, (this year to Waterperry gardens, with a stop at Bicester shopping village for the shopaholics). Coach almost full, about twice the number last year, and good to see that our support continues to grow.
Then off to a lunch club "do" , to host one of the guests who is coming with the Speaker. Then shopping for the weekend, in preparation for my visiting family...3 great nieces and parents. Then cooking friday evening's meal, lasagne. Then if I have time a quick clean around.
Tomorrow will be equally manic. My gardening helper can't be here and I shall have to do the jobs I had lined up for him. Ho Hum .
Still the weekend looks great and we shall have lots of fun putting up tents.
I also have some carnivorous plants to give to my nieces, and we can start to feed them with flies from my greenhouse. . More fun.
A bit grey here but second lot of washing in......I can live in hope
Have a lovely day those that are getting together and keep smiling all the workers, it will soon be weekend and only next week to go and then it's another long weekend
Not happy this morning, got the slug in the GH so no damage there overnight, but a slug (presumably a hungry one) has demolished one of my lovely Velvet Queen sunflowers overnight It's also had a marigold but not so bothered about that as my sunflower!!
Ooh I missed Matts post, that's scary. I can't sleep if I hear the police helicopter out but that would mean me getting even less sleep. We have 2 bolts on our back gate so no-one can get in (I hope).
Glad the writing is ok now Lizzie, I was going to make a glasses joke but MrsGarden beat me to it!
Yes, but given our wonderful justice system Matt you probably would have ended up in trouble for it too and then wouldn't be posting on here for a long time
Quick question not worth starting a thread for as my brain isn't working!!! What is the technical name for more than one flower head on a stem (eg of daffodils or sunflowers).?
Thanks OL for the other - I've only just seen your post! Internet was playing up last night so didn't get to catch up with you all til now. Unfortunately I've decided to leave the vegetable patch until August now so I've no space as I forsee Mr huge feet crushing anything in sight when he puts up my greenhouses (moving one and putting up another). I wonder what he'll think if I order the paving slabs for my birthday that coincidently falls on the bank holiday so he'll have plenty of time to get started
I've noticed one garlic and two onions have succumbed so far to his feet yet he always manages to miss standing on the snails. Where's the logic in that?!
Auntie KEF - oh there's quite the list to be had with him! But be gentle - I need him in one piece to build those greenhouses. I've been dropping hints about "that ring" (you know the one we picked together, I bookmarked, and have managed to get the webpage to open up every time he uses my notebook *cough* hint *cough*) for over two years now. I'm trying to come up with logical reasons why I don't just buy it myself come pay day! We'll see. Depends how much I spend on timber for the pond I think.
Right. Best get back to work. Hope you're all having a lovely day - I keep nipping outside its so gloriously sunny!

Morning all. Print here is OK now. Did what Dove said, I must have done it the other way when copying and pasting, or something. Silly me!
Matt, that's scary. Perhaps they were escaped convicts
Sun's out.
Everyone should do what I say - then I'd be in charge!!! Will someone tell Mr Cameron and all that lot that it's my turn now
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

They wouldnt be able to break in if I had got a hold of them as they wouldnt be able to walk for a long time.
Nothing missing though and I shall be putting a new lock on the gate today.
