Hello to all beautiful day here today but party preparations all day, tidying and baking ready for houseful of 3 year olds tomorrow, o.l was love your garden a repeat? I watched all so far, only thing is it always makes me cry and then feel guilty for having such good luck in life, hope everyone has a lovely day

We've had a quick trip to The range for a new loo seat. OH broke old one yesterday. I checked their toms and peppers(outside) and they've definitely been frosted overnight. The chilli leaves have that translucent look that they get before they go black. They have all the pansies undercover.image

My greenhouse thermometer showed a minimum of 1.9 C overnight, it seems the heater didn't kick in. temp at 9am was 19Cin the greenhouse. Dahlias in polytunnel with an extra sheet of polythene over seem all right.

Lovely blue sky here. it might be a day for hanging aroundimage and giving the garden a good looking at.image

    Bouon Journo [sp. ] forkers.

Back from Venice, second mortgage taken out, but had a lovely time doing the usual touristy things, and spending a lot of time watching the boats go up and down the canals.

No Murano glass purchased, but, still seemed to get a lot of brownie points, so hope to be allowed to spend most of weekend in the garden.

Will hopefully post some piccies later in the week.

Hope you are all having fun, will try and catch up with your goings on later on.

    See you later.

Ciao Pdoc image  Good to see you back.  Glad you both had a lovely time image

I've just come back from the farm shop and the GC (had to pop over to the Rescue Me Now section, but nothing there other than a dead Abutilon).  Anyway, I've found a replacement for the Sedum Spectabile Autumn Joy that turned up its toes over the winter - this time I've bought Abbeydore http://www.perennials.com/plants/sedum-abbeydore.html, think the colour looks stronger and will work next to the bergenia as its leaves change colour.

I also got some more Resolva and a Resolva Gel stick to tackle the weeds in the front lawn that the Weed & Feed didn't quite finish off - I spread it by hand and was so keen not to overdo it I probably 'under-dosed'.

If you want some Autumn Joy Dove let me know and I'll send you some pieces. I have loads and don't have places for all the bits!

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Glad you had a good time, puncdoc. We loved Venice last year.

Have weeded the broad beans, lettuces and future runner bean patch. Just off to earth up the potatoes and do the supports for the broad beans.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Absolutely glorious here.

Just got back from seeing sis, she has put her house up for sale.....hoping for free plants very soon!! Did come home with a few terracotta pots and a big round old trough type thing,...I'm so excited!!!

Referring back to David and Dove, my mum was in a lovely home too, and I couldn't have wished for better care for her. Wonderful carers. Some came to her funeral too. There's  some very kind people working in nursing homes. Unfortunately the bad ones get mentioned and not the good.
