Good morning all I went for my morning stomp in the frost by moonlight this morning - it was beautiful.
Yes thank you - we've had a really lovely weekend - the Foodie meet was great, we really enjoyed ourselves chatting to old and new friends as well as eating lots of wonderful Dim sum , and then quite a few of us went to a bar for more chatting and some drinking and then just as the rest of the Foodies were ready to leave a friend of ours arrived (pre-arranged) and we started on the second phase of our foodie weekend ........ this time we went Lebanese - to Kaslik http://www.kasliksoho.com/Kaslik/Kaslik.html - It's a tiny place with an even tinier kitchen which produces vast amounts of delicious food in almost the twinkling of an eye - and the waiters definitely have a twinkle and a smile. We had a lovely evening.
We got to our hotel http://www.guoman.com/en/hotels/united_ ... de_form=12 at about 10 and slept so well. The hotel was great and the view across St Katharine's Dock to Tower Bridge with wonderful luxury yachts moored right under our windows - and it was sooooo quiet - we had the window open and all we could hear as we went to sleep was the calls of the Great Crested Grebes on the water under our window - not a car, not a lorry, not a siren, not a sound until we woke at 8 am and heard the dull roar in the distance of a plane taking off from London City Airport further down the river.
After breakfast we headed for Pimlico and Tate Britain in the sunshine and enjoyed looking at wonderful paintings all day (stopping for a light lunch) until we had painting overload and had to stop for tea and cake before setting off for Liverpool Street and the journey home.
I see you've all been busy and lots of new names on the Forum - looks like spring has sprung in the hearts of the nation's gardeners, if not quite outside in the gardens yet

No frost for us, I don't think we have had any frost this year, I'm concerned it's going to arrive late again and kill the blossom like it did a couple of year as ago.
Morning all, good job no work for me today, I overslept!! Its not raining here and the sun is trying very hard to poke its nose out, so maybe it could be a nice day again.
Dove, sounds like you had a wonderful time. As Kef said you certainly packed loadsin, so glad you enjoyed it. Always great to meet up with friends.
Fidget hope you're ok x
Clari how is your pond digging going, bet your tired.
Hope you all have a good day, must get a wriggle on and get the slow cooker going.
Kef couldn't find cossie pic, buy did find one that would work on here. This tablet didn't pick some up.
Glad you had a good time Dove. Food looked yummy in that restaurant. Hotel looked pricey!
http://www.taylorsclematis.co.uk/clematis-sieboldii.html I bought one this autumn for a pot, it had flowers so I know it's right. Last time I bought a Clematis Sieboldii Florida it wasn't Florida, it had white flowers. Taylors say group 3, prune hard.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
BL, - the hotel could have been pricey, but we booked it on lastminute.com and it was one of the Top Secret ones, where they they tell you all about it and where it is etc but not which one it is until you've booked - we paid approx £90 for a luxurious double room overlooking Tower Bridge and St Katharine's Dock and all the yachts etc ..... bargain!!!
Still a lot of money for us in the grand scheme of things, but it was a treat for both of us as Christmas had been difficult with Pa being rushed to hospital - and my brother's off abroad for 4 weeks from tomorrow so I'll be doing all the parent visiting etc, - think it was well worth it as a one off.

Only just looked at hotel and restaurant. Was it the Tower you stayed in Dove, we stayed there some years ago lovely place. Restaurant looks lovely too. What a great weekend you had, lucky Dove

Good Morning, white over and -1C. Things looking pretty with a covering of frost. Just been out to break the ice on bird's water dishes.
Just caught up with all that has been happening on this thread, sounds like most have had a good weekend. Hugs for Fidget.
Dove, you certainly packed a lot into a couple of days, glad you enjoyed yourself.
