    Hello Forkers image

Another late start for me (tee hee) . . . well it is the weekend! Do feel guilty now I have seen what Fidget has had to deal with. Most inappropriate. Fingers crossed it is just a garden. Worth a check with the planning dept if you think it'll be houses.

The APs have been without TV for a week now, and without Internet and phone for the weekend (fault on the line), so they are popping over this arvo to catch up on missed shows and to get on the Internet! No cheese scones for them this week. May look and see about shortbread image

No rain here so may get out for a bit image

Yipee we've had an hours sun, ( amended 1 1/2 hrs ) so got GH's opened for some air. Then paddled around the edges of the garden to inspect. Don't know if I'm happy or not. Wonder what will happen to some of these if we get hard frosts & snow.

In bud / showing new growth: Honeysuckle, Kerria, Dicentra, Group 1 Clematis, Euphorbia, Brugmansia, Anemone.

Crocus, Daffs & tulip bulbs coming through and not just those in pots.

Pelagoniums in GH which were cut back are now flowering.

Viburnum opening more flowers & Fatisa & Mahonia still looking good.

Bluebells in a pot in GH ( to protect pot) are 1" high.

I also appear to have Forget me Not all over the blinking place, same with Aquilegia.

Lily I don't bake cakes, just hunt for pictures image I've also got some of those thick needles, think it was the cotton knitted tops that we knitted in the early 80's  lol.

Woody lunch sounds very tempting, but I have lamb steak, can I have some next time ?

Panda hope you are well rested.

Fidget, I believe if plans are submitted for development that affects you then you should should receive a lettter. Not that they take any notice of objections image        I truly hope whatever happens doesn't affect you, you've had enough with the blinking road.

Verdun, ice in your part of the world and we have 10C ..world's gone mad.

Best go do something towards this evening's meal. H has dug up leeks so a start has been made.

  • Fidget, there are curfews for that sort of thing - no noisy machinery or other noisy work between 7pm and 7am allowed here.  Times might vary locally so you could check with your local authority.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Its still sunny here, a really lovely day. But still so very wet out in the garden.

Verdun, didn't you say you walk your dog on the Towans, is that the beach or some where else.

Tracey, wasn't me planting bulbs, all finished before Christmas.

Had a terrible night. 12 at lunch today, including one couple's 4 children. They were lovely, so well mannered, but chatty as well. Dishwasher on, next load awaits, am knackered, OH gone for a snooze. 12 is OK, it was just the sleepless night.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

My mistake Lizzie, it was Chickie planting the bulbs.

The 3 Papaver Harlem I bought on offer from GW have come up and have a few leaves, no sign on the Agapanthus Martine yet though so I hope they are ok.

Other plants already in (that I don't know all the names of) are also starting to show signs of life and some of my tulips are peeping through.

Didn't get daffs or sweet peas planted but I have sorted out all the pots in the greenhouse and they are by the back door ready for washing.
