  I was just going to say 'pigs trotters'  yum, also proper pig's head brawn (a great favourite of Wonky's too).  Also known in Norfolk as Pork Cheese.

  My mum used to make brawn - lovely stuff.  

  However, whelks...   Someone gave me a whelk to try when I went to North Shields.  It resembled slightly fishy chewing gum...  

  Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

  I'm with you Lily re breaded fish, although I don't like Prawns, but I do like mussels  Go figure

  Before you nod off Dove - you can have my whelks & tripe with pleasure. Love all other seafood / shellfish - crab, squid & prawns are special favourites - just the texture of whelks - dont mnd the taste
