Best wishes to Mr & Mr Hosta - hope we hear from you soon.
Hopefully they are both OK - but such dreadful things happening at the moment. Afraid we're a bit like Pat and happy to stay closer to home while so much bad stuff is going on.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hello Hazel. Hubby is at the tip at the moment, so I need him for that sort of stuff (I know, I know, I should be able to do it myself but there you are). If you look back a couple of days, I gave a site to Wonky for the WA bushfires. Hope this helps.
Hi Folks, Haven't posted for a couple of days as I've been on Nanna Duty. Have read back but can't remember everything. Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time WW. It's hard to stand up for yourself with Landlords as you are always worried they will make things more difficult for you. I would quietly find out your rights via Citizens Advice and then have a chat with the landlord without being confrontational. You can't let these people make your life a misery. Hope you manage to get things sorted.
Hope Hosta is OK, hadn't heard anything about the Egyptian shootings.
It's gone much colder here must check what the weather forcast says.
Hazel - this is the link that Pat posted earlier for bush fire updates http://www.dfes.wa.gov.au/alerts/Pages/default.aspx . Please try not to get too worried about them - I know the fires are awful but Australians are really very organised about them, and children have been taught just what to do and that they must do it.
There were photos of my cousin and his family all over the English as well as Australian newspapers a couple of years ago when they had go to the jetty and get into the water and wait there for hours when a bushfire destroyed their home. They are all fine, the children coped really well, and they're rebuilding their property and getting on with their lives.
..... One thing I have notice in my trawling back is that there a lot less posters on here now since the New Year than there were beforehand. Familiar names and long term posters. I wonder where they have all gone?
That happens every year Hazel - numbers drop off after Christmas - people are busy and other things take over their lives - even with 'regulars' - until spring arrives and then most reappear along with loads of new people ... it's the way of gardening forums ...not everyone has the urge to natter every day like some of us
Hope we hear from Hosta today ...

we've been glued to the TV for a couple of hours - "Sting in concert with the Berlin Philharmoic" . Rather good. I have been in and out in between. I decided to cut most of the Kale and bring it in and save what I can from the depradations of the cabbage white butterflies. GrRrrrrrrrr.
Rudely awaken a couple of hours ago, terrible commotion in the garden.
Did my macho thing, "it will be ok. sweet heart, I will go and investigate", 2 of the largest foxes I have ever seen, brawling. It was several minutes before they seemed to notice me, and slunk off.
Hope Hosta is ok.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

Lizzie, Hosta said he was at Hurghada, but no idea what hotel. Hopefully it's not the same one.
Hope you're both safe Hosta.
