The wallaby joey is out. Just went outside and there they were. The iPad photo isn't clear, but the little one is peeping over the top of a bush near mother.
Evening all, thanks for all your good wishes re hubby. Had his final op today and the surgeon is very pleased. It was a long day at the hospital, didn't know when the op would take place or how long he would be so sat in the waiting room. He has to go back tomorrow to have it checked and then hopefully that will be it. He should see some improvement in his eyesight in about a month.
Haven't seen War and Peace yet but it is recorded. Haven't seen Star Wars either, not much of a cinema goer, usually wait until it is on TV.
Glad to hear you've had a spot of rain Pat, makes all the difference when everything is so dry, a hosepipe just isn't the same.
Glad your son is still improving Runny.
Hope everyone else is OK. Must go have to put drops in Hubby's eye before bed.
Give best wishes to hubby for his eye procedure. Hope it brings his vision back to normal.
Night all. Ive checked the rain gauge and another 26.5 mm, so that brings the two days total to 99 mm. Excellent result. I don't imagine I'll be doing anything outside, but who cares. Not me
Not been this early for a while. Littlest chicklet back at college today, so the usual commuting routine begins again in earnest. Have noticed the nights pulling out already, but it will be a while before the mornings start to get lighter.
Great to hear Mr Yvie's op went well - here's to a speedy recovery
Glad to hear poorly ones are on the mend (Rb's son, Yveie's hub, DD and her lurgy and anyone else I've forgotten).
Yvie, a dear (very old) old friend had that eye op - first on one eye then the other - brilliant result . Sadly the rest of his health wasn't good ......... but as he said, 'at least I can watch the telly and read a book as I slip into oblivion' ......................... it made his last years so much better.

Reading back about war horses, I have a lovely photo of my grandad in the 14/18 war, sleeping with his horse in the stables because it's was warmer!
My son used to train horses for gun firing, lying down etc, for re enactments.
