Wintersong, it's not E. pauciflora, although we do have them on our property. That one in front of the house is E mannifera, I think, but to be honest, there are so many eucs on our property, that after a while I gave trying to identify them all. (100 acres of them). Our E. pauciflora is different from those in the snow fields (1450-2100 metres altitude) sub species E. pauciflora niphophila or E. pauciflora debeuzevillei At about 1500 m. Sorry to get scientific, but you just might like to look them up on line somewhere.
fairys wonderful poem is on another thread. Forget the name, but I'm sure you'll find it.
Jo, we eat a lot of vegetarian meals, but not completely meat free. I'm interested in making rissotto from barley instead of arborio rice. Can you explain the difference in cooking methods please. We'd like to try it and I suspect it has more flavour,
Merry Christmas doc - it's lovely to see you. Love to both of you and enjoy your day - you deserve it too xxx
Glad you enjoyed the 'pome' W'song, and that little Flynn is ok and also your fiend. You're right - no one should be without a roof over their head - at any time. I've had a tiny experience of being in a 'place of safety' and I can't imagine what it would be like to to deal with that over a long period.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Happy Christmas wonderful people.
Just up and feeling very groggy, pills not alcohol, which is unusual.
have slept most of the last week, which is what seems to happen, when I have a relapse.
Am going to try and stay awake, so that we can have Christmas lunch together.
I hope that whatever you are all doing, that you have a wonderful time, you all deserve the very best possible.
