Hi Pdoc, good to 'see' you.  I'm sure your winter sun will do you the world of good but in the meantime have a peaceful Christmas.

The update hasn't altered the squashed screen but at least I can post a messageimage.

LilyP I bought a gammon joint yesterday so if you are happy with your results I'll try that too.  Have a safe journey tomorrow and enjoy a lovely Christmas with all the family.  Take care of your back thoughimage.  Thanks for asking about my foot.  I did mention it the other day and there's no change.  It can take months so I'll just have to be patientimage.

Hope Mr chicky didn't get too tired after his first day back at work.

    Have a good day everyoneimage

Good Morning all, hugs to Punkdoc and his OH.

Going shopping. Hope it will be less crowded than tomorrow, market day, or Thursday, Christmas Eve.

  • An unexpectedly dramatic afternoon yesterday, the chinese takeaway next to my clinic went up in flames. Thankfully we are detached and we suffered no damage, fire was a slow starter and everyone got out safely. I've never seen smoke like it, we couldn't even see out of our windows. I feel for the family who run it, their flat is upstairs and it has been declared uninhabitable. Awful.

How sad for them Steve, I hope they have good insurance.

I was wondering about leaving the goose in a slow oven for a long time. I had to laugh at you not switching on the oven, Jo! Has anyone any good tips for cooking a goose?

Morning Punk: lovely to see you posting today. Your positivity sounds hopeful: We shall be thinking about you in the next few days.

    Happy Birthday Master Dove!

So a word of warning for you all: I have a few cactus in the bathroom window. The spikey one has produced some fluffy balls that have sparked my curiosity. So off to Google I went.

    DO NOT

    I REPEAT

    DO NOT

google search "soft fluffy white balls" and forget to add the cactus bit.

You end up on Pintrest looking at Christmas decorations and before you know if your tea has gone cold.

Frankly Clarington, I feel that search could have gone FAR worse!
