Punkdoc, take your own advice, alcohol is a muscle relaxant / pain killer. Glad you were able to get out & do.

Catch up with peeps later a nice dinner to attend to.

I read or heard that quote  somewhere recently too pd -  it made me laugh. I'm sure you can find a little something for easing the pain. Perhaps in liquid form? image

I found a couple of lilac drumstick primulas languishing under the rhodo at the front window last year so popped them in a couple of pots. Just have to find somewhere for them. They remind me of my mum. Think they were one of the few plants she managed not to kill. image

I'll wave my wand Dove......there's something very satisfying about cleaning a bathroom - or am I weird? Worst bit for me is removing youngest's long hairs from every corner. She moults constantly. image

Think the architect has realised I'm not a pushover. He's bringing the amended (yet again) plans tomorrow.  Frank Lloyd Wright he ain't....image

  • I know of Charles and Joy Boldero BL, their walks were often published in the local paper - and I used to/still have one of their books ........ somewhere ............. we used to go for circular walks in the countryside on Sundays,  until Pa had his fall about 5 years ago - I remember the last walk we went on - we heard a cuckoo calling really close to us it was magical - then we got home and had that phone call image

Stacey - wilko's is selling peony roots for £2, or three for £5. I treated myself yesterday and potted up today. Really healthy looking. Just in case you wanted to replace the one you've lost.

Native primroses my favourite too. I promised myself a while ago to only buy those, and leave the coloured primulas for my pots only.

Cut down all my old phlox stems - and was delighted to see all the new shoots starting already.  Plus found a hidden pulmonaria that is already in flower and looking gorgeous - really deep blue.

then went for a 6 mile march on the local common - magical over there, and hardly another person in sight.  Feet up now before i tackle the bathrooms.

about to listen to a 3 hour gardening programme (well a bit of it anyway) that was on radio 4 extra yesterday morning - penelope keith talking about Gertrude Jekyll........

I was out earlier and had a quick look at the garden when I came back. New shoots appearing on my Ligularia in it's new raised bed home. Seems very early for it, but perhaps  spring may just sneak in without a late winter appearing. Hope so image

Someone was talking about Osmanthus earlier and I had a look at mine too. Planted it late last summer and it's looking very green and happy.

I should have gone for a walk too chick- it cleared up here - but I did the shopping and the rest of the h****work while I was in that frame of mind. Of course, the girls never even noticed their dust free rooms when they came back. Why do I bother.image

I waved my wand for Dove's bathroom this afternoon - will I do yours while I'm free for ten minutes before dinner?
