Good morning all. Everything is wet here today "why does it always rain on me"
Lovely gardening day yesterday and I managed to empty five of my troughs. They just need a good scrub then I'll start filling them. They were all full of vine weevils and I was worried the compost would have to be thrown away as I usually use it as a mulch. I found a thread you had answered last year Dove so I spread the compost on a large plastic sheet and the birds had a great feast
Feeling sorry for the workers - hope you have a good day.
I don't garden in bare feet but I wear crocs unless digging and I drop compost in them, water things and splash my feet, walk in muddy areas and forget and walk on soil and squash things with them. I don't like socks unless my feet are cold. Just love washing my feet under hose on a lovely warm day.
OL certainly restrained at GC.
Dove my delphinium is ready to open, it's avoided slugs so looks like getting battered instead
SM day and a trip to B&Q pensioner's day lol. Wonder if any drowned plants need rescuing.
Hope work is okay for you who are going. Hope others get to do at least one nice thing today
Some very ominous clouds looming so not sure if I'll get anything done when I get home. I don't have any problems with vine weevils normally. Not sure why that is but I'm grateful anyway!
Lots of leatherjackets uncovered when I've been digging out new areas in grass for planting. Birds have enjoyed those.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I found a giant slug trying to hide behind a daffodil stem next to a clematis which he'd been feasting on....not any more....
I gave up on lupins many years ago - if it wasn't slugs it was greenfly. The garden at the time was pretty barren - I could probably have tried them again some years on when I had lots more predators coming in but by then I'd gone off them!

Driving through Norfolk yesterday I saw a bank of lupins of varied colours on the roadside - obviously garden-types but a long way from any garden, surrounded by unkempt grass and 'weeds' - not a square inch of cultivated soil, not a slug pellet or copper band anywhere - why don't the slugs and aphids eat those?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
