Mine are sweet apples Bekkie and definitely not ripe yet, I tried one the other day....urgghhh! My neighbour bought me some cookers round today that had fallen off her tree so they will be fine
I remember making blancmange in cookery and a disgusting gazpacho, it's put me off both ever since
Chicky, here taboulé (French spelling) is made from cous cous which is made from cooked wheat, like little grains of pasta. I pour boiling water on it and let it cool, stirring with a fork from time to time. Chop juicy tomatoes, cucumber, salad onion and sprinkle with salt and some vinaigrette. The juices will ooze out which then soak into the cous cous when you mix them together. You can add any veg, such as chopped French beans cooked al dente, that you like and herbs. Mint is traditional, I like basil and chives or parsley. You can add dried fruit if you like, sultanas, chopped apricot.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

We made rock cakes, but I think we made pineapple upside down cake too, and scones and shortbread. Can't remember making savoury stuff.
BL - is cous cous pasta? Is it the same as vulgar wheat, so is that also pasta? Eat the stuff but dont know what it is!
Wish I was at yours for those leftovers - yum
Couldn't find vulgar wheat either - that was the following week!
