Well I'm going to be spending my day off wisely today: so far the to list includes
- clean the house (grandparents planning a surprise visit)
- strip the wall paper in the landing (if he thinks the garage is getting top priority in the grand redesign he'll not notice my efforts so win win)
- go and get some shopping (the fridge is getting silly empty now!)
- long walk with the dog
- accompany his lordship to Meadowhell this evening to get the Christmas shopping done (aaaggghhhhhhhhhh)
I'm sure I said I was going to spend my holiday being all cultured, visiting museums, taking a walk along a beach, not having to keep going into work...
Lilly: great news that they wont be operating. Are they sending you to a physio? Please please listen to what they say!
Wintersong: control freak away! I prefer the term perfectionist but I definitely intensely have a hate of things not being right. Mind you my engineering part of my brain flinches when things are not nice and square (girls are meant to prefer nice curves and flowing edges) and parallel. Regimented onion rows please me greatly!
I can't offer amyone tea or coffee today, we don't have any tea, or coffee, or milk, or clean mugs...
I've got some rum and shot glasses though so lunch is sorted!
W'song - I like mine colour coordinated too I also have some little birds like Dove has on her tree. They reminded me of the ones my mum used to have
Clari - me too, re the geometry rather than curves. Always been like that - like a nice straight, level edge. Useful for diy projects though - rarely need a spirit level
LP - that's good news about your back. Take the advice though - take it easy!
I've missed Edd's news- can someone enlighten me pretty please
I think I should do Christmas cards soon....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Forgot to say - Edd - that video link was funny, although I hope it was just the stone skimming that reminded you of me, and not the bit at the end....
Don't eat too much chicky
Off to work so have a good day everyone.

I'm resting, I'm resting. watching a train journey through Cuba (Chris Tarrant). Not sure it's quite to my taste but thats what is on so might as well let it happen around me. I can post to all of you and ignore most of the rubbish he is sprouting.
Yes it was a good day, Lily P. They live in Canberra, so only an hour and a half away, but mostly grandson is in school when we go up there, so now that he has finished for the year (and finished year 10) so he's getting ready for his last two years at senior college starting next year. He drove most of the way down on his L plates with his Mum a nervous wreck when they got here. Brings back memories for me as I taught all our three kids to drive. She won't let him drive on the winding road out to our place, just the main highway. I left my little manual car out for him to have a go with gear changing, but I don't think he enjoyed it. There was a bit of revving and spinning tyres.
