    glad it went well chicky

    Devon.
  • Morning all,

Just back in briefly after morning errands, have to pick Charlie up at 12 though, half day Wednesdays. He was supposed to be going to a local theatre this morning but it was cancelled because of the terrorist threat, apparently all school trips to theatre and cinemas have been suspended. Makes it all seem a bit real and a bit close even though I realise it is just a precaution and probably completely unnecessary. image

Chicky, that sounds like fabulous after-care, very reassuring. image

Hope the weather settles down for all of you, just a bit damp here, sun trying to break through, living in hope. image

DD, even my teacher daughter's PTA meeting was cancelled because of the Paris tragedy so I wasn't on Granny duty last night. What sun? Hasn't got here yet!

That does sound good after care, Chicky.

Been clear(ish) here since four this morning and is now a fine (and breezy) day.  No sign of storm damage - is everyone OK?

  • Just back from my first ever session of 'Short Tennis' with a group of 'over 60s' in a church hall down in the village - had a brilliant time - haven't played tennis for over 40 years and even back then I was rubbish at it, but a lighter racquet makes all the difference.

I was a bit worried as I couldn't find my knee support, but I was fine (I have ordered another one though, better safe than sorry).

Now I need to buy my own racquet image

After a wild and stormy night the morning was beautifully calm and sunny. Has since reverted and it is grey, wet and very windy again image

Spoke to somebody in town today whose neighbour had a very old (ie 200 yrs) tree come crashing down into their garden last night very narrowly missing the house. Could have been catastrophic if it had fallen on the house. Fortunately I believe only material / repairable damage done.

Have been trying to sort out my computer for the last 2 hours. For some reason it just dumped a load of podcasts and has filed stuff in odd places. Might have sorted it out - time will tell...

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
