Particularly driech here this morning but I managed to visit polytunnel and the Dahlia Imperialis I grew from seed have flower buds on them. They're over 2m tall but if the mild weather holds, I'm hoping there's still time for them to flower.
Plan was to start lifting dahlias and cannas today, but it's foul out there.
BL your plan for split living sounds wonderful. Good luck.
Just been to pick up the car, needed a new alternator, couldn't be simple like the battery, oh well, there goes another shirt of my back.
A Big Gale.....got to be taking the pee haven't they, it's getting like the US naming storms.
Sad about Pams dog, but another little one has a lovely home.
Hoping Dove is getting better, and all others.
Welcome back Hosta, just say the word and I will be there.
OH risking the Cornwall job today, I don't think it will be very pleasant driving across Bodmin Moor in this foggy drizzle but it's got to be done sometime, once the rain sets in here it's usually until April.
Off to Morrisons today, then a nice gammon roast tonight.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Ok Hosta, I think I will leave the few I have in the ground and they can take their chances, I will just pile mulch on then, they are flowering now! and you already have my coloured one, if you run out of space you could bin mine if you want to.
We will look out for the weather then, doesn't look good before you go away though.
Eden have started their free locals passes again if you are interested, talking of cannas and other tropicals.

It costs £12.00 for you, £10.00 for me, you can apply from 1st November to 1st March, then you go in free for as many times as you like through the year, well, up to end of October, so sooner you do it, longer it lasts.

Wise words from Wonky, Pdoc. Doing nothing is you taking control, not impotence
Sounds like lots of Eden visits possible for Lyn and Hosta
Had a grotty few days with Mr C - I dragged him to the GP yesterday, where they told him off for doing too much too soon, but otherwise reassured us that everything was ok. Apparently it is quite normal to take 2 steps forward and 1 back in this sort of recovery . Anyway, he seems brighter again this morning.
