But seriously, you'll enjoy it - a good camera makes so much difference - I also did a day workshop in digital photography, taking my own camera along to learn some of the things it could do if I knew which buttons to press ...

I can't believe how many laughs I've had reading all the comments tonight (mostly at Hosta's expense, I hesitate to say).
I can only get the chance to look back when we get to bed, so obviously that's where I am now, and really ready for sleep. It's been a very long day. And, yes Lilyp, they are really enjoying all the things we are doing to entertain them including the meals that Hubby has been preparing. Had a lovely roast pork tonight. When is your Russian trip - sorry I can't remember.
Hello to all I've forgotten to mention, will try to catch up tomorrow. I need a pen and paper before I read back.
That looks great Hosta - and a truly brilliant price The memory cards are dear too. I bought a bridge camera earlier this year - Fuji finepix s6850 - after losing my old one on a hill. Like you, I spent ages looking at various ones and thinking- for another ten or twenty quid, I can get a lot more 'stuff' with this one, but I could have gone on forever. I really wanted a compact one like the old one, so this is taking a bit of getting used to - it's a lot heavier for a start. I need to spend some time over the winter finding out how to use all the bits on it! I hope you enjoy using it and no doubt you'll put loads of pix on here!
Love Steve's bum doctor story - fantastic!
Fog started to clear here for a while but it's really bad again. Hope anyone on the roads today is taking care.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Well, have I planted my bulbs? No of course not, went for a nice walk up on the moors.
Very foggy up there, almost spooky. Sometimes I forget how lucky I am, living here. 5 minutes walk from the house and I am at the start of a climb leading up to the top of the moor and into the Peak district.
Hope you get good news from the doc. Hosta.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
I've just endured one of the most stressful situations of my life and I don't mean the doctor.
First things first . I have a hematoma in my buttock. Go on Pat, have another titter
"A hematoma is an abnormal collection of blood outside of a blood vessel. " say 'tinternet.
Left the docs' and thought , as I was half way there, I'd pop to the GC to see if they had any late season mark down.
Driving along quite happily, changing gear BANG then no clutch pedal. Managed to drive a couple of miles to a large lay by and had to just wait for the engine to stall as I stopped.
Simon, the lovely man from AA was there in 10, yes ten , minutes then I had to be towed around 12 miles to the garage.
12 miles being about 3m from the vehicle in front and not being able to see the road. It was hideous.
Your every instinct is screaming " you're too close , put some space between you" but the steel bar stops you , but you still want to brake, but can't. Even at 40mph it seems you're going impossibly fast.
He said I " did very well"
I've left the van with the garage and Simon brought me home. I'm now having a beer to calm my nerves.
You try to remember when there's a bend coming up so you're ready to steer round, but you don't know which line the lovely Simon is going to take so you can't really predict it correctly.
In the end I just stared at the letter m in "theAA.com" on the back of the van and tried to just "follow" it.

Oh my goodness Hosta, what a morning indeed! Very impressed at your speedy rescue! I have seen these tow bars and been glad I not had to use them!
Glad you only badly bruised and not broken/ chipped anything.
P doc a walk in lovely weather should always take precedence, bulbs can wait

Lily, it was really unpleasant.

Oh Hosta!!!
Re the injury - what have they prescribed, Rest, Ice etc?
And as for the car ...
It's horrid being towed by the AA isn't it??? I've only done it a short way but I'd rather not do it again.
Hope you've got your feet up now! ((hugs)) You can watch Autumnwatch with me - I recorded it
