Pat, you will be asleep now (I hope) but I really think previous advice of getting a doc involved is good advice. It is not long since you were very poorly.

  • Thanks for all the advice guys, definitely some things to consider, like you all say an instruction manual would be so much easier! image It is quite funny (and I do try desperately not to laugh) but some of his arguments and reasoning about why he should should not do some things are so, so plausible It is difficult to argue against him. image

Anyway, that was just a flying dash in from the airport, off to sort dinner out now and then to my new class. image

Bad news about the water Lily, hope you manage to get something sorted out. image

Todays funeral went very well - very moving service and standing room only in the beautiful little church in the village where we used to live. Caught up with some old neighbours and village gossip and saw that the builders have made a start on the land at the back of our old house. 20 houses going in there - glad we moved when we did but we miss our old neighbours - many shared BBQ's and G&T's in the garden. image

It's been lovely sunny day and the sunset was that beautiful golden which only really seems to happen on a cold winter day. Hardly any of the snow has melted and it looks as though it will start to freeze really hard as soon as the sun disappears (ie about now).

Busy Lizzie - glad you're getting things sorted in the cottage. The pub Dove recommended gets a 2nd recommendation from me. It used to be the old guildhall and is a lovely building. The church is well worth a visit too - some of the best mediaeval bench end carvings in Suffolk.

Hope I'm right in thinking you enjoy visiting churches (if not just ignore my waffle!) But, if you do, I highly recommend this excellent website to help pick some of the best to visit. There is a link to the  companion site for Norfolk churches on there as well.  http://www.suffolkchurches.co.uk/Alist.htm

We went to that pub in the summer, having found it on Google, but it was shut. We thought we'd try again another time. No time now, back to France tomorrow.

Feels very cold tonight, last night it snowed but had all gone by this morning.  The sleet was coming down on my drive back from Nanna Duty today.  Not planning anything this weekend just keeping warm by the fire.

Sorry to hear you're still not well Pat hope you, and all poorly peeps, feel better soon.

  • Evening all,

Back from both my keep fit classes and came home to a quiet house, everyone in bed - probably the first time I have had the place to myself for about a week. image

The new Aquafit class was amazing - it was a launch event tonight, so not sure it will be that good every week, but was a very encouraging start. We had disco lights, dry ice, people dressed up in silly rubber rings falling in the pool 'by accident', super music, great dance routines, although obviously a bit tricky in water and the finale was a sort of conga around the pool. There must have been one hundred people or more there and a real buzz of an atmosphere. we even got given glow stick bracelets, very 'rave - ish' image

I felt a bit guilty going because it clashed slightly with my normal class in our little village, I did manage to get there, just a quarter of an hour late. image Going to be torn every week now because the aquaft really was fun but the people in the village gym were the first friends I made in France. Luckily next week it is cancelled because our mayor is having a 'gathering', so I can try aquafit again and see how good it is 2nd time around. Shame they are both on the same night. image

Well nice as it is to have the living room to myself, too tired to enjoy it so off to bed.image

Pat, I do hope you feel better and if not do seek out a doctor.

Lizzie, safe journey home, we've had a bit of snow today so I hope your travel plans don't get delayed.

    Good night all. image

Evening all. Thanks for good wishes. I saw the Dr last Momday and she wants to see me again in 2 weeks. Can't do more than that. Have just managed a slice of toast and half a mug of tea. Waiting to see how that goes.

Visitors left half an hour ago, so we can now relax a bit and please ourselves. I know how DD feels! I envy her energy, though.

you won't believe this but I had the heater going yesterday, I had it set on 22c bcause it was really cold outside. Crazy weather.
