  • Hi folks - we're back from visiting - Ma is fine - the lovely staff at The Lovely Home are keeping her mind occupied and making a fuss of her.  Pa is a little improved from yesterday - he has a build up of fluid which has affected his breathing and his heart, and for the first time ever there are signs of heart failure.  In the past they've always said his heart is as strong as an ox - it's what's got him through several spells of being really really poorly.  Today he is as comfortable as he can be and we are hoping that they can get him well enough to return to the care of the superb staff at The Lovely Home with Ma to see out his days.  I'll be with him again tomorrow.  Bless him he is such a gent - he thanks the staff for changing his cannulas and thanked us for visiting, saying he's sure we had something better to do at Christmas - yet he held on to my hand all afternoon.

Thank you all for your care and good wishes - it helps, it really does ((hugs)) image

  • By the way - good luck John H with the knee - I'm sure it'll be fine - the results are almost always very good indeed  providing you do as you are told, and don't go dancing and playing golf before you're supposed to, like someone I used to be married to ..... image
