Been pond dipping with son today so we now have life in the micro-pond/puddle not on same scale as Clari's though. 2 pond skaters and about 6 fish. Ended up scrabbling around the river banks full of mud as the pond itself was a tad uninspiring. Son not happy at water in his wellies but funny when mum slipped in 3 times trying to get him some fish! Good times.
Matty good to see you again, congrats to daughter.
Potty, glad you can pick a bloke who likes dirt under the nails!
Hi folks - we're back from walking in the bluebell woods - lovely and sunny all the time - I'll post some pics somewhere in a bit.
Matty, good to see you and what lovely news! Just as we were leaving the bluebell woods a bride and groom and small bridesmaid turned up in all their finery to have photos taken amongst the bluebells
Edd, the Lovely Builder made a soil clamp against the back fence with wooden sides, all protected with damp proof membrane and covered with a tarpaulin. It's all lovely loamy topsoil so I'll be using it with leafmould and compost for potting up and filling raised beds etc, and other such things.
Clari - love your frogs we have frogs in the garden but I've not seen any in the pond yet.

Hi Verdun, you've been very busy these last few days, weeks. Must admit I dont recognise a lot of your plant names so have to look them up, but not for around to it so far this spring. Miscanthus (thanks) is oming on slow and steady. Thinking also that I might plant a row of grasses along daffodil path in the lawn. For the kids to enjoy, skip through and jump over, so knee high. Itll be next to a path so will sway nicely undisturbed in the wind. Also to hide the dying daffs. I have one which would suit but dont know its name.Any suggestions?
Wow, everyone has had a busy day. Good news about the arches MrsGarden,
KEF, how is the GH planning coming along?
I've done of a lot of pottering too, thinned out brocoilli, repotted sprouts, repotted sunflowers. Chopped up pallets for my grow bags to sit on. My GH is looking great I have posted some pics in the garden thread for anyone that wants to have a nosey
I don't think my Papaver or Agapanthus are going to flower this year, they seem very slow
Wonderful weather here too Verdun - not a drop of rain nor the promised thunderstorms. Here's a couple of bluebell pics - there's some on Camera Corner too ...

Clari, take it from oven, slice it thick and cook some of it it like steak. Once went for Sunday lunch to a friends and when we got back from a walk ( pub in all honesty) she opened oven door and accused hubby of hiding the joint. She'd put it in full down thing above oven so we carved into steaks and cooked it.

Hi all, been pottering around a lot today
Got quite hot in the greenhouse at one point but the showers have started now.
Managed to repot some of my Dahlias into their final patio pots, kept in the greenhouse for the meanwhile though.
Also managed to pot on some 20 Zinnia Plants into their final pots before they go out into the garden in about a month or so
Breaking news flash

Arches no 2 & 3 are built!!!! No secured yet but you know - slowly slowly.
Also have the tiniest bit of dahlia showing through, nothing from canna and sadly not expected
They're using the cheap gas tonight - its been HOURS and supper just wont cook!
