Love Magnolia Panda, my OH would love one but not quite sure where we would put it, he doesn't show great interest in many plants or trees but does in Magnolia when we are waking the dogs as there are quite a few near us
So far the only 'gardening' present is the rose I got last weekend from MIL, but have got a voucher to go and be pampered at the beauty salon and iTunes voucher for more music to listen to in the garden One of my very good friends is on her way round for birthday brew with a pressie for me too, she is lovely
Hi all, back from my travels, where I can see all your posts. I can only respond when I get home to my mac.
Plant sale was very successful, although Treasurer is still totting up the pennies. We had a much larger contribution of plants from members and villagers than for several years: the sun shone ( a bit, at least it was dry). Not too many gazebos blew away.
We had longer opening hours than in previous years, and lunches on offer. This led to a steady flow of visitors over 4 hours. Everyone was tired but happy. And we have some plants left over which will be sold for the Red Cross at an upcoming village garden party. ( It's called the "never again party" and happens every year without fail!)
Amazingly it looks as if Hampshire will be playing cricket today so that's where I will be soon.
Oh Clari, that's rubbish I've just had a piece of gluten free fruit cake, I would send you a piece if I could. Shouldn't they be accommodating people with special dietary requirements, if you were vegetarian/halal/kosher etc they would have to
I'm having a lunch time meeting at work in 15 minutes for which work have provided a huge feast of food of course I can eat precisely - non of it.
I'm Gluten intollerant Clar and have been for 12yrs now. It's a right royal pain finding food to eat when out but by now I'm just used to it! If its an all-dayer, I always take my own and OH spoils me with baked food such as cheesy scones and fluffy pizza bases. I snack on things like boil eggs or left over roasted veg.
Gosh I remember the days when you had to combine several flours to bake cardboard food that broke your teeth to chew.
Well, its been a super sunny day here for the most part and I finally finished washing my dirty stones and laying the new stones down on top, so the paths look pretty again and I have to be a good girl and learn to hover in my muddy wellies from now on.
Off to soak in a bubble bath, you wouldn't believe how dirty I am

Hi Woody
Glad you had a successful day - tired but happy is very good

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
