We had mugs of chicken and veg soup by the bonfire, then fireworks, then came in to watch Strictly and to eat sausage rolls and pizza by the woodburner. Then French Strictly followed the English one. Any of you would have been welcome, but I haven't been back here since this morning to say so.
Read though and had lots of things to say on the way but my memory is like a sieve and have forgotten most. Anyway it's past bedtime.
One thing, glad your OH is home, Chicky, hope you both sleep well.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
A friend came round to eat as her kitchen is being refitted and she has no oven or washer. We fed her and got drunk. The towels are three weeks used. Eeugh.
Good morning jo. I'm never far behind when coffee's on offer. I hope you're feeling better today.
Lizzie you sound as though you had a lovely evening.
No trick or treaters came to the door last night so KEF I've had to start eating mini packs of Geezers
We're going to sil's for lunch today so no cooking, hurray. The only downside is she wants an overhanging prickly bush cutting back from over her fence and she doesn't have loppers. Now there's an idea for her Christmas present
Lesley - give her a pair of scissors and tell her to do it herself....
You're obviously feeling a bit better jo
fidget - towels
No door knockers here either - thankfully - in fact - it was very quiet. Must all have been at parties or summat. I only had liquorice - don't think they'd have appreciated that anyway
Too early to be discussing Hosta's nether regions - I'm having my porridge
Weather looking fair for my walk so I'll have a quick look round before I head off
Have a lovely day everyone
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I like liquorice Fairy. Maybe not with a coffee though. Where are you heading today? Look forward to some more of your lovely pics.
Jo I was joking about the loppers as a present. I'd be happy to have anything like that as a present but I don't think she would. I'll get my own back and start decorating one of the bedrooms before they come here next time and ask for help with the paper scraping
Morning all, thanks for the coffee Joe- just what I needed!
Hope all the plans for today go well and that everyone has an enjoyable day.
Best wishes to all poorly or recuperating peeps, hope you're all on the mend..
Agree that it's a shame now that the days are getting shorter, just doesn't seem to be enough time to do all the things that I have planned ( well that's the excuse I'm now using!)
Very misty here, but once it clears hopefully we have a good day in store.
Had a good read back and glad to see you are all in one piece - more or less with the addition of some bruises for certain people - hope not too bad this morning Hosta.
'Date night' wasn't quite how it is in the movies - food was lovely, the singer was good, but because we live in a small community lots of people there we know, well I know, OH not big on social skills so he found something totally absorbing to read on his phone and I chatted and danced with lots of lovely people.
Off to lead my jogging group shortly, got more recruits coming this week and then need to rescue Charlie from his sleepover - think he will probably be tired - the word sleepover is definitely an oxymoron.
Have a good day all, beautiful here.

We didn't get any one knocking either, although someone had a brilliant firework party a few streets away, went on for at least 2hrs.
