Morning all - lovely sunny day here but it looks chilly (cat's nose is bright pink - always a tell tale sign )
Sorry to hear you're poorly again Pat - hope you start to feel a bit brighter soon.
Sorry to hear you're still poorly too Hosta. I think the virus I had last summer with a relapse in autumn is the same dreadful cough / cold type thing you're all struggling with now. It subsided into an irritating dry cough & finally seems to be clearing up - but it's been a long haul.
P'doc - you're right that there has been a bit of unpleasantness on the forum recently but, if I remember correctly, it's happened before & it'll happen again. As others have said, it seems to happen when we all have a little too much time on our hands. Keep thinking positive sunny holiday thoughts and, by the time you get back, it will be nearly spring & we'll all be friends again
On a holiday note - we'll be taking the caravan to a site not far from Barnsdale in March. Apart from Geoff H's old place does anybody know of some other garden related places which might be worth visiting at that time of year please?
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Time to see the doc if you have a cough that is not getting better after a fortnight.
A lot of cabin fever about.
I printed all the tickets for my delayed honeymoon yesterday. My main sowings will be March, so as not to give the untrained house looker after too much to do. If the weather turns bad, she will have all on keeping the bird feeders filled.
I hope you feel better soon, Pat. Remember you have friends here if you want someone to talk to in the dark hours.
Thanks all for support, have been feeling rotten all day, but managed a little dinner tonight and no ill effects yet. Have remembered to swallow some sports drink and that might have helped. It'll be interesting to see how I go tomorrow morning. It's HRHs appointment for her 6 weekly groom, so Hubby has offered to take her in to town if I'm not up to it, prediction for tomorrow is 38c. Pooh!
Thanks for the concern about my cough - went to the doc's back in September & again in Nov. Full battery of blood tests and X-Rays - nothing showing up so neither the doc nor I are particularly concerned about it
Almost certainly a lingering post-viral thing - possibly due to damage to the airways when I had the really bad chesty cough / cold which kept me awake for nights on end - just like Hosta, BL, DD and all the rest of you who've had it. Was nicely clearing up in October when I went down with exactly the same thing again - compounded the symptoms so is taking a bit longer to get over this time.
Much, much better now - but really hoping I don't catch anything again before I'm 100%.

Hi Topbird. Isn't it irritating? Just when you get confident that it's gone, it raises its ugly head again. Hope you can shake it off soon. I've actually made it to bed, but I'm not sure how much sleep I'll get. I've slept/dozed most of the day.
Hope you manage to get some sleep Pat & feel a bit better tomorrow.
Sister in law is in Canberra & I think she is suffering with the heat at the moment. It was her hubby's b'day at the weekend & she did him a full roast beef / yorkshire pudding dinner as requested. Not too sure that either of them felt too much like eating it when they sat down though...

Did notice the upset over a week ago, but thought everything was ok now.
Goodness, that's a long time to have a cough Topbird. Hope you're well now.
