Morning all. The French crash happened on a country road about 15 minutes from where my daughter lives. She was staying the night with me though. It was one of those huge lorries that carry wood and a coach carrying a walking club of retired people going to walk in the Pyrenees. It sounds horrific because the deaths were mostly because of the fire. 42 dead.

Oh Jo - how sad image ((hugs)) but kind of them to bring him home. I always think that not knowing is worse.

There's been a change of plans here ... the sensor in the car seat which tells the car that I'm sitting in it and it must swithch on the air bag in case of accident has gone wrong. It had been a bit erratic before the MOT and the garage thought they'd fixed it but the light is on again - they've ordered a new one and can fit it on Monday morning - in the meantime I'm grounded and we won't be going to MIL's this weekend image

You'd think the car would be able to work out that if there's someone driving the car then they're likely to be sitting in the driving seat - why does it need a sensor in the seat to tell it that? image

Jo, I didn't realise. I thought you meant that he was just lost and still ok.  Sorry if I sounded flippant.  Very sorry.

Really sorry to hear about the New Kid joimage.  I had taken too long typing and had to go out so I've only just seen your news.  As Dove said it was kind of the farmer to bring him home as you could have been worrying and searching for a long time.  Doesn't take the hurt away thoughimage.

Nuisance about the car Dove.  They are so technical nowadaysimage.

Dove you are obviously too light to trigger the sensor.

whew, that was a marathon read back.

    Good afternoon one and all.

Another lazy morning in bed with lots of cups of tea.

Grey and overcast here but light breeze. I ventured out as far as the bird feeders .

Had  a parcel arrive from a fellow forum member, tetrapanax, and  AMORPHOPHALLUS titter titter.

" I'm sorry Mr Hostafan, but I'm afraid that's the worst case of amorphophallus I've ever seen "

I have to say I do feel for those of you with aging parents.  The mother of a friend of ours died last week . I had a message from our friend saying they're now planning a holiday now they're "free". I know exactly what she means.

I've not seen any TV yet, but that crash sounds like the most hideous thing.

    Almost the weekend folks.

I'm off to pot up my new plants.

  • Hello all,

Keep hearing such bad news really finding it hard to be cheerful. I suppose I should be just grateful it's not me, but really upsetting to think of all those people on the coach and their families and then poor Jo. Also heard from someone else who is having problems, just doesn't seem fair.

The sun is shining here though so I am working in the garden, muck spreading, so shall take it out on that. image
