All secure here as far as I can tell though I haven't done the grand tour yet. A bit brain dead due to wind keeping me awake. Not much rain, 9mm
Will have to do a veg trip to MrSainsbury. I would have gone yesterday but it was horrible out there, wet, windy and muddy. The last is down to the constant passage of sugar beet lorries, which take up most of the width of the road and drive off road when they meet one coming the other way,
I hope we haven't too many casualties on the forum.
Well, that was some weather last night! Just hope my house is Ok My brother lost a couple of slates from the roof but otherwise all ok.
On our way here got a phone call from a friend saying that she was dropping a present off and would leave it behind the bin. Glad I suggested she put it in the empty brown wheely bin after the last two days weather! (I was on the tube and didn't have the chance to tell her we were away!)
Have a fun and safe Christmas Eve - Gardengirl, take a break! Verd, can you restock the rusty tins with goodies please? We may pop in and it would be sad if there were no yummiest to eat
Hello all. The storm's apparently heading this way later but I've tied everything down now so hopefully no great damage can be done. So many people without power in the south and may not have any tomorrow. People have died in these storms too so I'll be thinking of them and all the others who have lost family members and friends recently. I really will count my blessings when we're all tucked up safely in bed tonight.
And now that I've depressed you all....
if Verd's cabin gets blown away you can come and stay in my shed. We decorated it and it looks like a snowy alpine chalet now.....
Have a good day everyone- wherever you are
And put your feet up and have a cake gardengirl !!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Fairy Girl - beautiful cabin - is it the one that Mary Berry did - it looks scrummy. Made a custard for the trifle and it looks like rubber -5 tbls custard powder to 1 pint of milk. I might have to remove it and try again with instant packet stuff.
Mended the homemade coldframe till the next storm.
I knew if I took my eye off those elves for 5 minutes....
Forester - my daughter did it all. I only helped decorate the roof. She scaled it down a bit in size - only problem was that it meant the bits each side of the door were very thin so they needed a bit of extra help to stay up with a large snowdrift! I offered to glue it together with clear sealant but she didn't appreciate that for some reason...can't think why

In the sticks near Peterborough
Winds seem to have died down in Sheffield which is nice as I'm back in the office for the last working day of our year.
I hope you're all keeping safe out there and will have entirely uneventful journeys to your loved ones over the holidays.

I've got plenty of mince pies and sausage rolls - I'll donate some to the Rusty Tins

Well said Fairy.
Lovely chalet.
Is it just me or are the PM's not working? I don't have a box to type into.
Nope, neither do I - maybe those techies are moonlighting as Santa's Elves
