Hello again Pdoc. Elbow now - it seems we all have progressive ageing. I can't believe sitting in the car for a couple of hours could make me feel so rotten yesterday.
I won't be outside much more today because of the heat. A couple of weeks ago I was complaining about the cold. Never satisfied.
Youch! Didn't you get burned? My freckly skin would have been a red crispy mess by then.
I must admit that as a kid we played outside all day long - I lived in a coastal town - fishing village and we didn't come home until late afternoon. We used to take sandwiches of just bread and butter and at low tide, we'd collect oysters from the rocks to put on our sandwiches. No plastic wrap in those days - only greaseproof paper. It's strange to think back on that now. The recent talk of Rick Stein jogged my memory. He has now got a restaurant in my old home town of Ulladulla. His restaurant is on a headland a few miles north -called Bannisters, if you want to google it. I remember old Roger Bannister who owned that area when I was a kid. He was a dentist. As girl guides, we had to scale that headland to get a badge. Wasn't easy, either. Ricks restaurant is highly thought of.
Pat , we had an apartment in Goa in India for many years. 33c every day, min 23 at night and 12 hours of sun every day. We spent 3 months there every winter and the only sun protection was factor 30 on my nose, factor 4 on my face and coconut oil everywhere else.
And I mean everywhere. Naturist sunbathing is illegal, but you can always get round it.
Drinking coffee before a busy morning starts - OH has meetings at the Art Fair in London and I'm meeting a friend in the city (this one, not London) so we'll both be catching the bus after breakfast - OH to the station, me to Carluccio's

Hosta, you make me feel guilty about complaining of heat.
Pat, you will never, ever , hear me say " it's too hot"
I've lain on a beach in 42C with no problems.

You ARE naughty Hosta. Trying to shock the locals like that. Isn't coconut oil used for cooking?
Good morning all
G'day Pat
