Hi guysimage.  Flippin' tinternet has been freezing ( though it!s quite mild here)image.

Pleased to hear that most have had a good Christmas, despite sniffles and aches 'n' pains.  Beautiful pics Fairy and Patimage.  I remember having an icicle measuring 8/9ft from the roof 6 years ago.   Yours really was very Turneresque Patimage

Hugs for those whose Christmas has been bu....ed up by events outwith their control and best wishes for a happier New Year.

Rb - so delighted to hear about your Gd.  She'll be over the moon with the romance of it all.  Have you been teasing her with 'did he go down in one knee, etc' image

    Hosta - look after yourselfimage.

Will have to read back and try to take it all in - a massive taskimage

Bedrooms are ready to receive family at last, have made 5 doubles and 5 singles and a cot. Son 2 is bringing 2 more cots. Floors hoovered, bathrooms cleaned. Cup of tea time. Ironing next, but mostly pillow cases, tea towels and napkins, simples. Was a lovely gardening day, but no time.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

  • Evening all,

Feeling very sorry for myself here, still ill and now fed up with it too. image Have been having a conversation with myself in my head telling me to pull myself together - it' s not working very well. image Must try harder - hate being ill, can't abide sitting around doing nothing but just haven't got the strength to get up and do anything. Have managed to get a turkey stew on the go so no-one will starve anyway. I went back to bed this morning and OH decided that it was a good idea to go for a walk - unfortunately left Charlie at home and the sound of his crying woke me up -  poor boy thought he had been left all alone in the house. Weeks I have been trying to get OH to do some exercise and today he decides is a good moment. image Sorry, that's my bad mood getting the better of me again. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow, right now there isn't a part of me that isn't aching. image

My sympathy to you too Hosta, hope you feel better soon too. Glad to read that everyone seems ok and you have all got through Xmas in one piece. Enjoy the party Kef, steady away though, steady away. Lizzie you have my sympathy with the bed making - hard work isn't it, I do hope they all help you out when they get there, sounds like a nice family get together though, enjoy. image

I am hoping to watch Agatha Christie tonight, we have it recorded, but not sure how much I will get though, hope it's good and takes my mind off all my aches and pains.

Have a lovely evening all, I hope to be back tomorrow with a cheerier disposition. image

Look after yourself propely DD - you sound as though you might have a dose of 'flu rather than just a cold.

We all know how hard working and active you usually are - so you wouldn't normally be floored like this by a bad dose of the sniffles (unless it's also a culmination of all the stress you've been through in recent weeks)

Proper 'flu is quite a serious illness - so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to recover. Take care. x

I feel your pain too DD.

So far to-day, I've had 2 lots of paracetamol, 2 antibiotics 1 pill for hiatus hernia , 3 lots of cough mixture and, just to top it all, 2 lots of Immodium.

Hope to feel better tomorrow. Hope all other poorly peeps do too.

    Roll on AC.

Good grief. Get well soon everyone. (I find that a good dose of short-term self-pity helps on these occasions.)
