I have been known to extract up to £15 from a man suffering from Manflu, whilst on a one hour Sunday Rota, (like we used to do before the supermarkets decided to have 24 hours opening and shove a pharmacy in the corner by the booze aisle.)
Mansize tissues, obviously, preferably those with extra soft or added balm.
A hot drink type thing(works better in a special mug). probably some lozenges or a throat spray. Some Vitamin C to aid recovery. Olbas oil or Vick Rub. A bottle of Lucozade. Sorry, cant help with the bell or the nurse holding a towel to wipe the fevered brow.
Womanflu---- Two paracetamol four times a day, keep warm and drink plenty of liquid. If bunged up, a sudafed tablet three times a day.
Tracey glad you had a good time Please don't mention the M word, it sets me off.
Punkdoc thanks, I guess I knew that, but wanted someone to say "go for it" I had an urge to prune something !
Instead I have done a small sewing job, no where near the satisfaction. Going to a 60th B/day bash tomorrow night and I bought a top that needed tucks in the shoulders, a bit big and smaller too small A tribute band the Rogues ( Pogues ) are playing so it will be a good night. Just glad it's not AC/DC or Judas Priest bands whose concerts we've been to with B/day boy in the past. Sorry no smiley with ear muffs
I miss my 4x4. Sis and BIL have just bought a new one. Will start saving again once my building work's done. Which one are you getting Clari?
Its a Defender Crew Cab. Bit of a rugged machine which is going to stand out in the works car park full of little family diesels and executive sports models and hardly what you'd call designed for comfort but its ideal for our needs (its ready been booked to attend a friends wedding to "ensure the groom gets there"!!) Its not brand new (I'd have a much bigger garden if I could afford one new!) And wants a little tidying up but nothing we can't do ourselves.
I'm hoping to get quite a few jobs done in the garden this weekend - even if I'm out there in my wellies and wetsuit. I miss that feeling of productivity you don't get from ironing!
Its wonderful and sunny outside. But I fear we've a storm hitting the UK tonight. Keep safe everyone and no putting yourselves in danger.
Really sorry to hear about your mother Matt. Keep safe xx
fidget- the wand would be going sideways if I had the choice.....Last year they discussed the aid being sent to India and Pakistan and an Asian man phoned in and said his home country was laughing at us for sending so much money there. He was quite angry about it, saying Pakistan was a very wealthy country. In other words - we're being taken for mugs here. The problem with so many of these countries is that it doesn't reach the people it should, it just gets transferred straight into the pockets of the people running them.
Anyway, on a lighter note...
I was outside - gardening - till....half five! Lots of tidying and cleaning the area where I feed the birds, putting compost into the raised beds, and planting a few litte bits and pieces etc. It was still light too. Makes me feel almost human
Enjoy your new 'truck' Clari! If the weather gets really bad, you'll be glad to have it.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
So sorry to hear about your mum Matty, I know exactly how you are feeling. My deepest sympathies and very best wishes to you and your family. Big hugs x
