Currently sat on the edge of my bed unable to move as have a severe groin strain. Have been trying to work out when I got it and have concluded it must have been when I lifted the lawn mower into Pa's car (he's not allowed to do any heavy lifting). Have been trying OH's patience since I came to bed as I did try lying down but then it started to spasm He then had to get up to help me into a non painful position. I have taken some ibuprofen but I doubt I'm going to be able to move from this position all night God knows how/when I'll get some sleep
Hi there Panda. My sympathies to you, I feel rotten too, even though it's not acute as yours is. I hope you don't have a hernia. They can be very painful. Isn't it always the way - you do just one little thing and then it all goes haywire. I hope you've managed to get some respite and sleep. It's horrible being awake in the middle of the night and in pain as well.
We've just been out the back for the last couple of hours with Hubby chainsawing another trailer load of firewood. I wasn't able to load it this time as I usually do, so he had double the workload. We're both hoping this will be the last load for this winter, but I said that last time.
I'm also feeling sorry for myself. My brain keeps imagining all sorts of scenarios of what is going on with my body. It's hard to turn off the thoughts. This has been going on now for 5 weeks, but at least they are conducting tests to try to work out what is going on, two ultrasounds next week.
enough of my probs, I hope by the time you get this that your pain has settled down. 2.40pm here.
You're keeping me and Pat company Hosta, very kind
Pain has subsided a bit Pat, the painkillers must have kicked in. Have now moved downstairs as can sit and lean on the sofa and hopefully snooze. Am worried I'm past tired
That looks like a lot of wood. I know it's easy for me to say, but try not to think about possibilities of what might be wrong. You are having all the right tests (maybe not fast enough for your piece of mind) and they will sort it out ((hug)) from me
Thanks Panda, hugs for you too. Hosta what are you up to trying to exist without sleep? What's your excuse? I also find the lounge better than bed. Why is that I wonder. Trouble is, I go from being freezing cold and having to load rugs over me and then feel like I need to throw everything off again. Grrr. Sort of dozing, then my poodle who is beside me as usual decides to jump down and pant as if she needs to go out. That lasts a few minutes then yo the cycle starts again. I'm just an old grump at the moment.
just popping in briefly ....about to set off for a weekend whirlwind of garden visiting. Highlights are Dixter and Sissinghurst, but a few others thrown in whilst we are passing. Not for the faint hearted, so am leaving Mr Chicky at home. Will report back next week. Very excited to see that the sun is going to shine for us all weekend
hugs for those in need .....and hope everyone else has a great weekend
