Good morning all - we're home! Wonderful holiday and it was everyday
Something wrong with the summer when you have to go to the north east of Scotland in September to get a suntan
Hit and miss internet in the cottage so haven't seen what you've all been up to. I'll just wish everyone well and hope those that have been having a hard time recently are on the mend.
Have so many photos it'll take me forever to get them on the computer, never mind sort them. We didn't see Nessie ( ) but we saw loads of beautiful scenery. I won't bore you with it all, but, just to prove the sun shines in Scotland sometimes, here's my lunchtime view on Ben Wyvis on Thursday
and the young fairies enjoyed skimming stones on the beach at Ardmair Bay, north of Ullapool - just like their mum and aunt did over 40 years ago. It was our holiday destination for many years....happy days
Some of my parent's ashes are scattered there so that they have that view forever.
A few tears were shed...
More tea needed now while I catch up with the activities here and put the washing out. Back to reality!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hi Fairy good to see you. Glad you had a lovely hollibobs and the that the weather was kind to you. Lovely pics. Great flat stones for skimming
Hi Kef, not on hols, just been doing stuff in garden........and Lesley was right having lots of cuddle time with my little poppet Thanks for missing me tho x Hope all ok with you now re roof x
DD hugs, hope you get some rest this afternoon tho. Loved the tooth fairy story
Wonky glad you had a lovely day, look forward to pics......any of you in your finery too?
Weather a bit overcast but not as bad as forecast for this weekend. But i think i'll be putting garden table and chairs away soon.
The weather couldn't have been better if I'd ordered it specially!
I'll see if I can do the same for you Dove
Bit of haar on a couple of mornings, as is the norm in the east, but we had 360 degree blue skies and sun every day. The cloudiest was on Thursday when I did Wyvis, but cleared by lunchtime. It's always a very windy hill so I skirted the summit of the first top as it was hard to stay upright, but it was better when I rejoined the plateau path, and superb at the summit. Less windy on the return, so I did the other top on the way back. Lots of people only went to the first summit - perhaps I should have told them....
For the first time on a holiday - I didn't want to come home. Usually want to come back after three or four days, no matter where I am. Perfect weather for doing some of the many Munros there, but I thought I'd better spend some time with the girls
Garden has survived well - picked my first tomato! I set up a basic watering system with a wick from a water container into the pots. Brilliant - might just do that from now on!
What happened with KEF's roof? I'll be here for a week if I try to read back

Glad to see you back, fairygirl and very glad your holiday was so good. Looking forward to more great photos.
We're stuck in front of the Tele watching the first episode of X Factor, Australia At the moment. Judges this time are James Blunt, Chris Isaacs, Danni Minogue and Guy Sebastion. Rather good talent so far.
I'm not a fan particularly but that song is just one of those that I find myself humming (very badly) in the garden. It seems to take no account of climatic conditions either. Maybe it's a Fermanagh thing. My dad used to say "you can't have a lake district without rain!" Today, however, is glorious sunshine. HURRAH!

. Glad you all had such a good time - good to have happy memories and create a few more too.
Forecast here seems to have changed its mind, and rain seems to be saving itself til tomorrow, so might get out there and plant some plants later

It's a lovely mild morning - short-sleeved tee shirt weather - and I'm pottering in the garden
