Thanks Yvie. Hubby cooked a nice meal tonight with chicken, carnation milk and noodles etc. and I managed a good helping. Hopefully that will give me more energy tomorrow. But you're right, I should just get over it, get my shoes on tomorrow and get stuck into it.
Hope your Mum is going OK. I dread the thought of being old and frail. I looked after my Mum for her last month's and was glad to be able to spend that time with her. If I hadn't already been on long service leave from work (to do my Honours year at Uni) it would have been difficult to get the time off, especially since I lived 3 hours drive away. Sorry to be so morbid, but I can't seem to lift today. My best wishes for you and yours.

It's been a gorgeous morning; I've been out there weeding, cutting back, deadheading and potting up. It's really warm. Maybe the toms will be ripe before we go away.
The new doorbell is a bit of a PITA - by that I mean that it works I answered the door to a youth delivering leaflets on behalf of his family firm (???) who will 'recondition your roof tiles madam as I can see they're in urgent need of treatment'. The most urgent need I could see was a belt or braces to hold his trousers up
I thanked him for his concern and told him we have a builder in the family who does all our work, please don't waste paper by leaving me a leaflet which will go straight in the bin.
I'm sure we're getting far more of these visits now that we have a doorbell that works

I'm in two minds Jo. . . . it would be 100 ft away from my house at the bottom of my garden. . . . not terribly wet/moist - I am in the South East after all . . . . they do look very pretty and it would cast no shade in my garden what the neighbour might think is another matter . . . . her garden isn't as long as mine . . . .
Still not a happy house here A lot of lead still on the roof OH has removed what they left at one side and will replace and cover other lead with fake stuff in the hope they think all has been removed. New stuff arriving shortly.
No call from police
OH having doubts about us going on hols We are going !!!!!
Jo we don't have anyone to house sit and even we didn't even hear them I did hear OH removing some this afternoon Mum will be okay she knows nothing about theft and her alarm is on her doors and windows so anyone on her garage will set it off, the window cleaner sometimes does Younger Sis is in charge of mum when I'm away
Clari will be parked on our drive with her big hose plus Dove with the rolling pin and Lyn has organised a 24 hour Forkers watch..hope you all water my beans xx
Just a quick hello, off to the gym tonight, first time back after the long holidays, I envisage a few aches and pains tomorrow.
First day back in the classroom today too, teaching English again. Bit of a surprise, seems they had a recruitment campaign in the holidays so my normal six has doubled to 12 with a possible 4 extra next week. And I have been promoted () to the advanced class which means I have to really be on my toes. I had them debating the monarchy today, good bad or indifferent, seems they all like the Queen but not sure about poor about Charles. Don't tell him.
A friend of mine in UK is a vicar's wife and I have lost count over how many times they have lost their lead from the church roof. You would think that they could make it more difficult to be sold wouldn't you, I don't know quite how but surely something could be done.
Panda we have 3 corkscrew willows here and nice as they are I do get fed up with all the twisty bits constantly falling off, they are very fragile, just a bit of wind and bits of branches break off.
Best get a move on, need to walk Shadow before gym, he is in my bad books, got back from college and he had emptied the kitchen bin all over the floor and I have since found two crusty ends of a baguette buried under the sofa cushions. I hope he finds a rabbit to chase to wear him so he is too tired to get up to any mischief whilst I am out again.
Have a good evening all.

Sounds like a lovely day Dove, I'd take the doorbell down....worked for us! no landline....no cold calls.....don't make it easy for them!

I've had a lovely day...big splash swimming day for adults with learning disabilities.... The chap I support absolutely loved it! Then a walk and picnic by the shore under the Orwell bridge, beautiful...even saw a seal basking in the water and sunshine! Beats being in an office although I wouldn't mind swapping paychecks!
Glad you enjoyed an indulgent morning Hosta! Enjoy!
Evening, Jo, Lesley DD
Have a lovely holiday Kef, we will watch the place and mother
Pat, don't feel guilty, I revel in a duvet day every once in a while
Not tried doing cuttings yet Verdun, but I want to learn...started learning growing from seed though

Afternoon all
Perfect drying weather here, sunny and windy so washing is out on the line
Jo, would the twisted willow need a water supply? is it as thirsty as normal willow?
Yvie, sorry to here about your mum
Hope she can pull through
Just been cheered up by a family of Long Tailed Tits, flitting around one of the feeders.
Nature and gardens are without doubt good for the soul.
