Lesley, sell the wood! Birch burns beautifully!

if the tree surgeons want it make sure they reduce the price!

so many people have burners these days and there is a demand for wood.

    Morning all.

Two pots of tea consumed before we got up this morning. Is that just too decadent?

Hubby has promised some weeding. I noticed during the great Hosta labeling project that some primulas have seeded rather too closely to one or two Hostas and some shuttlecock ferns. They'll be in the compost bin before the day is out.

Looks  lovely out , if a little breezy ( no change there) Saw another wind turbine being set in place just outside town yesterday. mercifully I don't hate them as much as some.

    Almost the weekend folks.

    Morning all,

Kef, sorry to hear about the lead, we've just replaced ours on the porch with something that looks similar to lead, we then sold the lead and more than covered the cost of the replacement.

Hope you feel better Pat, don't feel guilty about taking a lazy day we all need one occasionally, just give in and enjoy it.

Hubby feeling better today and can see hazy images through his eye so fingers crossed.  My eye is much better.  Mum on the other hand is not so good, went to see her in hospital yesterday and she looks really poorly, not sure her Dunkirk spirit is going to get her through this one.  I'm going back this afternoon and keeping fingers crossed for an improvement.

Have to take a trip to the supermarket as Hubby normally goes but he cant carry heavy bags at the moment.  It's really sunny here so might get some gardening in when I get back.

    Have a good day everyone.

There's a turbine I can see from my perch in kitchen where my laptop lives.

It's my weather vane telling me wind direction and strength.

Damson puree and sugar is simmering gently.  We are planning a trip to Cornwall  after the wedding, and will  drop off cake to the diving friends we have at Watersports warehouse. I could pack a jar of damson cheese for you Verdun... or would you prefer cake. ? Mind you I dont know how much cake will be left. At the summer party fondant fancies disappeared as fast as I got them on a plate.image

Yvie - a little good news along the way helps a bit.  Hope your Mum is comfortable and not fretting about being there. Have you heard about your daughter?

Wind turbines are just 'there' but in the distance they can look quite graceful.  On this morning's walk I saw three deer crossing our path, only about 10m away.  The dog is fascinated and just watches (I gently pat my pocket and she knows the treats are in there)image.

Forgot to say that we had a nuthatch on the bird feederimage.  The new birdbath bowl is a dog water bowl - againimageimage.

Hi Lesley, daughters arm has improved a lot so she is on the mend too, thanks for asking.

Have just got back from Aldi (where a dozen lovely cyclamen fell into the trolleyimage) and on my doorstep were two delivery men busy writing cards.  Normally I get back to see their tail lights disappearing round the corner.  Perhaps my luck is changing.

One of them was delivering the plant supports from Harrods Horticultural.  Although they are supposed to be seconds I couldn't see anything wrong with them.  Might order the next size up as well.image

Prefer wind turbines to pylons they look more graceful.  Mind you I don't live by either so who am I to talk.
