Good morning all , going into Lincoln for meeting

bit overcast , hopefully sun will come out later

hope you all have a good dayimage

    jo47 , what's silaging ?

  • Silaging - making silage, a type of semi-fermented grass fodder for cattle.  Grass is cut and put into anerobic containers (used to be a silage pit or clamp - now plastic wraps).

The advantage over hay is that it can be made when the weather isn't as good as that needed for haymaking and the meadow can be cropped several times during the summer.  I think I'm right in saying that it also has a higher nutritional content.

Morning everyone, no phones or internet for most of yesterday so couldn't pop on last night to say hello.

Things are not going well with mum.  Doctor came to see her yesterday and said she should go back to hospital but she is refusing.  Not sure what I can do, staff at the home say they will call 999 if they feel necessary and hopefully the paramedics might be able to change mums mind, but if they can't then we wont be able to make her go as she is fully capable of making her own decision.

Had a call from hospital yesterday to say that hubby will probably have to go in for his op today, they should be calling us in the next hour or so to confirm.

Despite all of the above had a productive day in the garden yesterday.  Took ivy and trailing verbena cuttings for next years pots and baskets and did some general tidying up and weeding.

Hope everyone has a good day and all poorly peeps (and cats) feel better.

  • Yvie ((hugs))  is there another hospital your mum could go to?  I can understand that she feels anxious about going back to where she had such an awful time.

Towards the end Pa stated very firmly that he didn't want to go back into hospital and that whatever happened he wanted to remain at The Lovely Home - he said this to his GP and it was put in writing on his notes and on the computer system.  When he was taken poorly the GP and the Practice Nurses managed his symptoms and kept him comfortable.  If it was out of hours the Emergency Doctor who attended was shown a copy of the relevant papers on his file and all was done as he wanted.  However, it was known that he did not have long left.

Good luck to your OH with his op.  Fingers crossed here for a very postive outcome image

    Morning fellow Forkers.

Misty here but the wind seems to pushing it back to the sea.

    Hopefully another nice day ahead.

OH has been told in no uncertain terms HE WILL BE LABELING THE LAST OF THE HOSTAS BEFORE HE EVEN THINKS OF DOING ANYTHING ELSE ( after he's made me breakfast, obviously!)

    He's somewhat distractable , if that's a word.

Weather looks nice for the rest of the week. Hope it's the same for you all.

Hope poorly peeps and pets are heading in the right direction.

    Devon.
