Pretty good, Dove!  You've convinced me...  image

Big game hunting, fox hunting - just opposite ends of the same indefensible hobby, IMO.  Not that my views went down well in rural Northumberland, where I gardened for "landed gentry" who were fully paid-up members of the fox hunting brigade.  Hunting to eat what you kill, ok, though I'm probably too much of a wimp to get that close to my food; hunting for trophies, or to see animals suffering in an unequal chase, most definitely NOT ok.  image

Sorry - didn't mean to get started on that.  image  There's a nice smell in my kitchen from baking sponge cakes...  and now it's stopped raining (temporarily only, I suspect) I can go out and pick some raspberries.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Done precisely zero of what I had planned for today. But feel relaxed image

Now trying to psyche myself up to get off the sofa and go for a bike ride ...those holiday pounds have to get shifted somehow. You can't go to Italy without sampling every flavour of gelato on offer .....it would be rude image

Right, we're off to MIL's - back in a couple of days - look after each other and enjoy your gardens - hope the sun shines for you image

    Have fun Dove.

I've just been sorting out which photos from Waterperry gardens and our trip to New York to get developed to stick in the album. Taken ages.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Have a good time Dove.

Liri - cake sounds yum - guess it's too late to suggest you consider chocolate cake with raspberry and cream filling? - like Black Forest Gateau but with raspberries instead of cherries. Only just thought of it - might have to make it myself to check it out image

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Pandas are ambidextrous, so bamboo eating will not be effected KEFimage (curry for tea tonight)

Evening all. Been away walking and I've just eaten the sandwiches, which were for my lunch, as my dinner with a nice cuppa. Too wet and cold to stop as the hail, sleet and rain moved in before I got to the last hill. The worst bit was the neverending peat bog on the return.... I doubt my boots will ever recover image

On the plus side - Raiders of the Lost Ark is on image

and I saw a nice little herd of deer before the monsoon appeared image

Chocoraspberry cake sounds good. Send some this way - I've earned it today image

Doing zero is what I'll be doing tomorrow chicky, and yes, it's rude not to sample the gelato. As often as possible I found image

Now I'm off to see what you've all been up to image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
