    Morning all. Lovely day again.

Have been failing to get on the forum all morning without success.

    Congrats. Liri., a great achievement.

Gentle weeding is on the cards today, probably from a horizontal position.

Am off to see how it is done properly next weekend, with a trip to Sissinghurst and Great Dixter. CL is my gardening hero, so I hope it does not let me down.

    Have a lovely day all.

Good morning (and happy new month!) all  image

Thanks so much for your congrats, lovely people.  40 years seems such a long time...  but I was lucky enough to marry my best friend, so although we drive each other mad from time to time, we still love spending time together and sharing a lot of laughs.  image  Couldn't imagine life without him!

Thanks too for cake suggestions.  I think we'll go with the raspberry one...  image

    Have a lovely day, everyone!

Hello everyone. I've been a bit out of touch for a few days because we've got some friends visiting.  We're enjoying catching up, but it's hard to take the time to read and respond to the various posts.

My lettuce seedlings which had appeared between a few stray weeds a few weeks ago and that I had transplanted to pots in GH, are really responding to the slightly warmer conditions. I noticed the GH got to about 20C today, even though outside the strong winds from SW (right from the snow fields) were uncomfortable, so I'm pleased with that.

I'm harvesting outer leaves from Broccolini plants and really enjoying them. Lovely mild flavour and even our visitors are impressed.  I'm leaving the Kale leaves until they are a bit bigger and I have taken as many broccolini leaves as I dare without depriving the plants too much.

Not much else happening outside here, but we had a few drops of rain this evening Which is very welcome. (9.45pm here.)

Thank you Pat E no smiley faces here, can't get any avatars!

Some threads I cant post on at all. Really weird how it always happens on weekends!

Congrats Liri, 40 years is quite an achievement nowadays. We had ours last year, family all together which was special and hasn't happened since (due to global positioning)!!!!

    Rains on.

Lily and everyone else who is having trouble, you need to install an adblocker on your web browser as it is the adverts which cause these issues.  If you don't know how to do that look at my answer in this post:

or ask a friend who knows about "computery things" to help you install one. image

Happy anniversary Liri. We had our 40th in 2012, so as they say, been there and done that!  It is good though to know that there is someone who has lots of memories and laughs to share.

After my complaining about this minuscule keyboard (and the irritating spell checker which changes things without notice), Hubby got me a lap top (although it's called something else that I can't remember at the moment, and can't go out to the lounge to ask him, because the visitors think I went to bed to sleep). After he had set it all up for me, I discovered the awkward thing has a flat plate instead of a mouse, which one has to run ones finger up and down on to get anywhere, etc. etc.  Anyway, the upshot is that Hubby is now the proud owner of a new machine for his own use and I am happily persevering with this mini. Congratulations on the laptop by another name Pat E image  Persevere with the mousepad - after years and years of using an ordinary mouse both at home and work, I'm now quicker on the pad than the mouse image  It can be done image
