Well we have had no pasta in six months, so this way he can have a few pasta dishes without the carbs. I can make rice out of caulifowers so that goes with curry.

I'm not as strict as he should be , I still have odd cake or biscuit at work. Main thing I have cut out is bread and pasta. I feel a lot better for it,less bloated. Maybe its the gluten thing... although I would say its intolerance if anything and not allergic like a coeliac.

I have lost a stone without really trying....image

If anyone does a lot of baking, muffins etc, Poundland have a great range of Jane Asher  stuff in, mixes, toppings, cake holders, bun trays, mixing bowls etc. I bought a couple of tray bake non stick tins, mainly because I thought they would be good for other stuff in oven, they are about an inch deep.

I have stripped one bush of blackcurrants this morning.. I had better get on and jam them.  It looks like rain here. Big black clouds have come over.

SGL I think if you have kids, the spiralizer would be great. It could keep them busy for a while.   It washes up easy enough (I bought one from lakeland. )

    Late Hello!

Went to local water board today about the huge bill following the water leak. They wanted original of bill from plumber and a letter from me. The woman in the office wrote the letter for me and said she had cancelled the bill. I should received a new bill more in line with my usual payments. She also told me that they have no problem with water, plenty under the ground, although some areas are suffering. She said I can carry on watering the garden. Phew!

I did the weekly shop in the supermarket there, instead of Leclerc near Périgueux. Have just read in local paper that the farmers are demonstrating about milk and meat prices and have dumped a load of manure at the entrance to the motorway and parked a load of tractors in the Leclerc carpark - so I escaped that. Another phew!

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Verdun, we've got heavy rain forecast for East Anglia tomorrow and Saturday - I've been around deadheading and cutting some perennials back and yesterday I planted the PSB - it'd be nice if the rain turns the grass green again image

BL, you could have bagged up the manure and brought it back with you image
