We would share if we could Winter. I have had to water some pots but the rest of the garden is looking after itself. My parents' garden is very dry and sandy. Walking on the lawn was like walking on straw so I can sympathise with you. Your efforts are paying off because yours looks great. Keep heaving those watering cans and forget the gym
Lesley - pass a garden with a huge Bowles M every day, always first to flower (before almost anything in my garden) and just keeps going!
Winter - yep, got other lobelias which have been in situ a few years, they do 'ok' with only a little care (poor things) but took a chance and will give this one a different place and see how it gets on.
Hello everyone, just thought I'd pop by and let you all know I'm still around. Not had much time for gardening at all, my tomatoes are growing but need repotting, as do the cucumbers. I didn't manage to grow any other veg this year and my Sunflowers are shocking from neglect, so all in all I don't feel worthy of being on here......I am contemplating changing back to my very original name for those that remember it!!
Done a 60 hour week this week and managed an hour in the garden this evening, dead headed my roses, discovered my plum tree was literally buzzing with blue bottles () and came in wondering my my Dahlias and Begonias are showing no sign of flowering.
Anyway, sorry I had to get that off my chest.
I hope everyone is ok, enjoy your trip Punk Doc and belated congratulations to our latest Grandma, Lily x
Bressingham Gardens were fabulous, loads out and lots of colour, it was WOW and WOW round every corner. We went on each of the 2 steam trains too. One went past Alan Blooms old nurseries, which were huge and now falling into dereliction, sad. They are looking for a tenant. I bought arose, "Lady of Shallott" and a square lead look pot to put her in in the garden centre next door. Went for a wander in Diss afterwards, lovely little town.
Going to south Suffolk tomorrow.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Thunder and lightening at mo scary, but where is the rain
The crocosmia have started to flower at station Stacey Docherty (forum member from way back) ones started first - Lesley yours are getting there are other ones doing well from forum members
Can we have picture updates of the station, Gardengirl.?
Punkdoc, have a lovely time. look out for polar bears. I hope no medical skills will be required, but I am sure that if they are, you are more than up to the job. Just believe. Have a good time.
Thanks for all the good wishes forkers, you really know how to cheer a young [ish ] man up.
I am off Sunday, after another shooting practice tomorrow. Arrival home is a bit dependant on sea ice conditions, and the data that the scientists can get on the Beluga Whales, but should be in about 2 weeks.
Hopefully might get some pictures of Polar Bears, Whales, Walrusses etc.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

S.Yorkshire/Derbyshire border
Green with envy here, Punkdoc.
I'd love to see beluga whales in their native habitat. The only ones I've seen were penned up at seaworld.
Fidgetbones will do, here is 3 pics from a few weeks ago when the foxgloves were making it all look pink
