I'd never heard of Hylda Baker. In something called "Nearest and Dearest", I looked her up. They spelt it with a y. I was too busy with training to be a nurse, and then working funny hours, to watch TV.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Oh has been to a a funeral today. Someone he shared a a house with at Uni.
It kind of brings home the thought that you dont know how long you've got, so make every minute count.
I have been taking back frocks, ordered online. Having tried on every available long frock in Burton,Nottingham and Sheffield meadowhell, I ordered online. The dark blue one was purple and needed 6 inch cutting off when I had my highest heels on. The light blue one was not, as described, large for size, so both went back, and I picked up the larger size. In the meantime it had gone down £50. So i suppose that subsidised the petrol and parking fees.
Wedding ring blank being tried on tomorrow.
Heavy rain forecast so that finishes gardening for the weekend.
Been cuddling grandaughter all day so haven't managed to do any gardening. Tomorrow I'm going to a fundraising fun day for the Nepalese in the afternoon and my new nextdoor neighbours are having a housewarming party tomorrow night so will probably be popping in for a drink with them.
Such a lot has been going on here that it's hard to keep up. Verdun I hope your cousin improves and gets his memory back soon, it must be so frustrating for him.
Fingers crossed for you Wonky. Sounds like you had some bargains today.
Glad Pippin is settling in Matty.
Hostafan, no more Fridays at the coalface hurrah!!
RB I remember Nearest and Dearest and I'm not 27 yet
Sorry if I've missed anyone out. I'm off to bed now so Night Night.

My last Friday at the coalface to-day: and what a day it was.
Glad it's over and a nice day emptying agapanthus from the tunnels tomorrow.

I better fill the slug pubs up.
Slug pubs filled. 5 snails crunched underfoot.
The hedgehogs dont seem to like crunchy meat pies.
Ist zinnia in flower.
Think I need one of these Liri. Fairy you're just lucky
.
Rb, was Hylda Baker the one who used to say 'Have you been Walter?' Not that I'm old enough of course.
Fidget perhaps the hedgehogs like to open fresh ones so they can check the best before date
. Good luck with the dress.
