Congratulations on your new grandson, Bizzy.

Lovely gentle rain overnight but is clearing later.

I was connected to BT superfast broadband two weeks ago. I only switched because Virgin Media wasn't going to provide broadband any more to non- cable customers.  I can't say it's any faster than before but I do have an elderly laptop. It was a bit of a nightmare. The engineer couldn't connect it and I was left with no internet or telephone as he'd disconnected the copper line. After days going on to the BT helpline  and promising to get back to me on my mobile, which never happened, I eventually got a call in the evening by a very helpful man who talked me through what to do to get broadband, which the engineer hadn't been able to do and the telephone was restored the next day. I'm happy now as it's a lot cheaper than what I was paying before with Virgin Media.

    Have a good day all.

    Morning all.

Congrats to you BL: much love to all.

OH heading "up country" this morning It's taken him over 6 hours so far and still not in Surrey and it's rained all the way there.. All the solstice types heading home I suppose, but he's not a happy bunny.

Some much needed rain overnight .

A bit too wet to work in garden, so polytunnel pottering is order of the day.

Enjoy Monday , hope the saltmines are kind.

Many congrats on the new grandson, Lizzie!

Sunshine & showers here, but still a bit cold for prolonged weeding; must find another layer before going out I think.

My sister was supposed to be coming today (she lives near Newcastle), visiting Mum & staying overnight, but has a cough she doesn't want to pass on.  It's a shame - was looking forward to a catch-up.  At least Mum won't remember she was to have had 2 daughters visiting instead of the usual one!

    See you all later folks.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

I somehow feel that 'solstice types' ought to be travelling cross-country by Shank's pony, or a mule and ox-cart at the very least - heading back up the motorway would  spoil the experience for me image

Well, I got nearly a whole line of washing dry before the heavens just opened - we got it all in before it got soaked - only the jeans and towels will need 'finishing off' when the sun comes out again.  Only one clothes peg escaped OH's grasp and flew off into the pond - fortunately it's wooden so is floating and will be fished out later.

The bathroom is sparkling and pastry for a sausage and egg pie is resting while I have a coffee - a very productive morning ... so far ...

Sounds like you have been busy Dove! image

If I could please have enough warning to get the washing in, could someone please send some rain here!? I have the clouds.....after soaking my brown compacted lawn with the hose, I thought I'd try sticking in a fork, give a bit or air and drainage. I managed to get the fork in an inch and a half after jumping on it! Admittedly I'm not a big womble, but pig headed and surprisingly strong image so a jolly good cloud burst is in order please! Just remember the washing warning! image

    Hello

What a busy time you have all had

Love the colour of those bridesmaid dresses Frit.

Well done Liz - how many GC's now?

Yesterday we were invited to daughters for a BBQ, they had bought one and a chimnea, spent a lot of the time getting smoke blown at us as it was windy, still their garden is now christened. I am very pleased to say she is beginning to think ';garden'. So far wants a lavender and butterfly border, has bought some herbs to grow. She asked what she had to do to keep them alive - I suggested watering them was a good start!!!!

Anyway 2 have come home with me to be potted up into larger pots

Just think peeps only one more sleep before dog image

    Have a good day

Congratulations Bizzie Lizzie, hope all are doing well. image

Hi Matty, hoping to get our as of yet unused BBQ out sometime soon (not new, left by previous owners but looks good enough). OH not keen on BBQ food so is reluctant to pursue the idea, but I do think it is nice once in a while - long as it's not too windy of course. image

Been baking all morning, shortbread for strawberry shortbread on Sunday, Lavender Biscuits and cherry scones. Doing a Dundee cake this afternoon and may another couple of batches of  different scones. Really not sure how many will come, don't want to have too much left over but don't want to run short either. Freezing scones so perhaps I can get out in batches as required, they shouldn't take long to defrost. Going to do some raspberry muffins on the day too and maybe a simple Victoria Sponge. Ever onwards, catch you all later. image

LilyP I hope your dil is OK.  I'm sure you'll all be worried but it's not long to go and I'm sure she will get the best of care.
