we now have a door that opens and we can access the 'facilities' without going via the front garden
With a great deal of effort, patience and skillful manipulation of hacksaw blades and dinner knives the Lovely Builder managed to get the 'latch' back and open the door. The faulty latch has now been removed - he will get a replacement which he will fit next week when he comes to do a small job on the roof.

Sorry if I misled you. We are not building the wall. That's being left to strong men who know what they're doing.
Glad to hear that you have access through your house now Dove. That happened to us once but luckily we were on the side with access to tools and managed to get the door off it's hinges.
Forgot it was the Highland show this week LilyP. Shame they're not flying to Glasgow on this occasion.
Morning all, can't post from laptop for some strange reason so just a brief hello. Worked till dusk in garden last night, starting to make progress well at least us looks like something's happening. Worried my Lillie's are going to peak too soon - my showstoppers - they are well on the way to opening and still 10 days to go, will they last do you think?????
Must go, beds to make, dog to walk and then back in garden before Judo duty this afternoon!
Good day all, hope they let you out the house soon Dove.

Morning Lesley, or should that be Wilma or Betty? good luck with wall construction!
Dove, I've told you, the builder sets these traps throughout your house so you ask him back! I told you if you makes builder soups, cakes, scones and biscuits then you will never get rid of him! Remember father?
Have a lovely time at tennis Chicky! Big Goran fan myself!
Poor Reggie, poor Clari as a result! Fingers crossed, and legs Reggie? Hope he feels better soon!
Nothing on today except Flatface has his check up so five mins at the vets, two hours trying to wrestle him into a catbox!
Lesley our doors have the sort of hinges you can't get at!!! Flippin' modern designer houses In the past I've always lived in very old timber-framed houses with Suffolk latches and big hinges - so much easier when things go wrong
Dd - glad things are getting a bit straighter - you can always put some little notes up challenging people to spot the 'special weeds' left purposely for rare insects that you have in your garden

Strangely enough OH bought some Hobnobs the other day - we usually only have them in the house when the Lovely Builder is due - I told him it was asking for trouble!!!
Big commotion outside - magpies at the blackbirds' nest again - I don't know whether the blackbirds and I chased them off in time or not.

Wintersong - wooden floors will be making an appearance in this house too. Unfortunately for his lordship rather sooner than his decorating plans intended... so its not all bad!
Reggie is now sulking in the garden: all his toys are in the pond, the chives have been ripped up and the compost bin is not his friend either...
Reggie is absolutely right Clari! None of this is his fault, defiantly those chives wot did it govener!
Shop biscuits Dove? Your slipping! Too much time feeding robins, bit of builder neglect showing! Go rescue the poor blackbirds!
From what I've seen from pictures DD, you have nothing to worry about! We are our own worst critics and hone in on the faults we see, others will look at the garden as a whole and think it stunning!

We have wooden flooring throughout Clari exactly because of muddy paws, slobbering months and projectile dog sh*t
Get well to BL 's back, and lovely carrots.
