I've done a bit of looking at the garden. Some very nice, new aquilegias. A lovely ruffled triple yellow. I found a bronze leafed cow parsley under the magnolia. I assume it is an offspring of ravenswing, but it's not as dark. If I remember i will collect seed. Then a bit of digging. Soaker hose laid around the sweet peas. We don't seem to have had any rain for ages, and its getting very dry. Then I planted some cornflowers in plug trays to drop in gaps later  on. Now soaking in the bath.

    Have a good evening folks

Lots done today - the bigger tomatoes potted on, ditto the courgettes, and some sorting out in the little greenhouse, weeding the raised beds and lots and lots of watering of all the recently planted perennials in the font garden.  Calendula seedlings are through as is the purple sprouting broccoli.  No sign of the sunflowers yet ... but I keep telling Wonky to be patient image

The temp got up to just over 20C today - from time to time it felt really warm sitting in the sun on the terrace, then a big dark cloud would hide the sun and I'd have to put my jacket back on.  There's still a blustery wind too.

Wintersong ((hugs)) - rest, rest and more rest - prescribed by Dr Dove!!! image

Liri - lovely news that your mum's feeling a bit more like herself. image

BL - How exciting!!! Very impressed here!!! image

    Evening all,

Quick pop in before back to garden, watering very much needed this evening. Tried to buy a hosepipe but it was all too complicated, going to send OH when he gets back.image

Guests were lovely last night, both sets househunting, one had put an offer in so all very exciting for them. So glad that is all behind us, extremely long-winded and stressful. image

One plus point to cooking for guests last night - I get to have the rather delicious leftover strawberry (home-grown) cheesecake for supper tonight, after the watering chore of course. image

Have a good evening all, WS hope you are feeling better, good news Liri too about your mum. image BL, very flash, just popping over to New York. image

Fidget image  I keep meaning to say - Rosa glauca is looking happy and has lots of buds and Roscoea Kew Beauty has just peeked through image  Thanks.

Do you think the cow parsley might be bronze rather than purple 'cos it's been in the shade under the magnolia?

Verdun, what colour kniphofias and what have you planted them next to?

Dd ...  a set cheesecake ......... haven't made one for a while ........mmmm imageimage  I usually make baked ones ... I might just have to .........

in from work and straight into tunnels for mass watering.

Totally worn out but they've changed my shift tomorrow from 7-4 to 12-8 . At least I get to lie in bed.

Cash refund from topsoil folks and 2 replacement Sweet Pea packs arrived from T&M. Clearly it is worth complaining via their facebook page.

The cow parsley is fairly shaded, but it has to be worth a go. Are your aquilegias flowering yet, dove? Anything special?

Fidget - I've shared them with Wonky - so far I've got a very pretty double with a white centre and pink outer - looks like a strawberry sundae -  a couple of yellow singles with a rosy/apricot outer, and one that's just showing colour and looking very interesting - a very strong yellow showing at the moment.

I've also got one I brought back from Touchwood with me - a big plant over 3ft tall and getting on for the same across covered with flowers, a striking yellow single with the outer a strong orange-red image
