I'm not jealous of Verdun at all for living in Cornwall,

Kent is one of the warmest parts of Britain. On 10 August 2003, in the hamlet of Brogdale near Faversham the temperature reached 38.5 °C (101.3 °F), the hottest temperature ever recorded in the United Kingdom

    Waste not want not Verdun!

Only just fit enough to potter about and missed the talk by Rob Allotment chappie. At least it means I've more money for plants!

Does anyone know of any fun recipes for rhubarb?  Last year I rested the rhubarb completely not knowing its history but this year it would be nice to taste it!
