I'd agree with you on that one Clari, one of my favourite meals is steak, huge salad and jacket potato but wouldn't be the same if it was just jacket and salad
Clarington, some bread makes me bloat. I have found its the ones with soya in. (added as a flour improver) Also smoky bacon crisps make my finger joints swell. I reduced my arthritis rapidly once I realised that it was an inflammatory reaction to things I was eating.
When Ryton Gardens was first set up, I used to go and have my lunch there when I was in the area. I got talking to Lawrence Hills and dropped that out, and he took me to see his wife (Cherry) shortly before she died. They both had fairly restricted diets because of intolerances to various foodstuffs. He explained how much their health improved with the right diet. I hope you find the culprits soon.
I cut the first salad leaves of the new season yesterday. They were a lovely addition to a BLT. I'm not allergic to good dry cured bacon.
I've cut bread out at the moment and also cut right down on pasta and rice, just to see if it makes any difference. I don't feel as tired I must admit.
Lily, glad you had a lovely lunch and feel a bit better. My good friend is down today but doesn't live near me, I wish I could see her and cheer her up instead of relying on funny text messages about my planting antics!!
Thanks Tracey, I know what you mean about catching up with friends, but even the odd text means so much. She knows you are thinking of her and would be there if you could

Thanks Fidget, I'm feeling better already with SO much more energy even on my tiny calorie intake that its only too clear that a food somewhere was causing my problems. I'm going to have a go at making my own bread again to play around with what flares me up (if its not yeast - otherwise they'll be very flat breads). I'm sure I only react to certain brands as when *I* did the shopping I could eat the bread just fine so I might be a soya fend like you! We'll get there eventually I'm definitely going to be making more foods myself though - not just to avoid any unexpected extras being added to my meal but simple things like hummus are so easy to make and freeze into little portions I find myself now questioning why I ever paid the price for it in the first place!

OL. One of my dear friends lives in America so I don't get to see her at all (time zones meant that since we both have brain injuries neither of us could work out when was the best time to use Skype!) But I love getting her little emails even if they're just telling me about the girlfriend trouble her teenage lad is having. Keep contacting your friend I'm sure she appreciates it. Could you surprise her with an emergency Royal Mail delivery of chocolate? (I've done this several times to friends I can't be with as a little surprise other than bills to be popping through the post).
Well that was a wasted trip for me, all the plants at my local Aldi we're in a right mess I could not believe how bad they are usually there fine oh well there is always next time, I do have my eye on a cold frame they have for sale for ??30 so I am saying my pennies to get one next week if they still have
I've text a few times today and have sent her little 'cheer up' cards in the past. I do see her though, we had a coffee last week, as she isn't too far (like America ), but far enough that I can't just pop round when I want to. I think I've cheered her up telling her I have chilli, tomato and cucumber plants for her and I've sown extra sunflowers yesterday, she is buying a house so will want the garden brightening up

Some pictures of my Mandarin ducks on the pond. They were at the back, and very flighty, so not great pictures.
His Mrs is there, but rather dull and camoflaged [spelling? ]
